Comment:

Class was online and her instructions were all over the place. I have taken many online classes, this one had a very unorganized feeling to it. She would take days to respond to emails or even respond after the due date for the assignment the email was pertaining too. 4 tests that all have lots of quizlets, 2 discussions and a paper on a movie.

She talks around herself often, but it all gets back to what you are reading about and what goes on in day to day life. Very open and opininated, if you aren't ready to defend your opinion and hear others don't talk. She thrives on discussions and you can tell she loves being a sociologist.

I would never take her class again! It was awful! All assignments are listed as being due on a specific date but are actually due the day before at midnight. It's very unclear. Her requests for discussions were unclear; lots of spelling & grammar mistakes in the text of what she was asking for. Never available during her office hours even w an appt

Great professor. I had her for SOC 101 and SOC 102. She enjoys the subject and it shows. The key to both of her classes is to take the practice quizzes over and over and over. You can not go wrong when you are given the test bank prior to the test!

I'm not sure why she has such a low rating, but I thought she was an amazing teacher and very, very helpful. I took SOC 102 online with her, during this time I was taking care of my sick 96 year old great grandma and missed the deadline for the test. She was very understanding and reopened the test so I could take it.

I loved my experience with this professor. She was very helpful, assignments were clear, very minimal work, and she even offered extra credit, so I'm not sure where all of the negative reviews are coming from... Anywho, the last review was in 2014, so maybe she's improved.

It's hard to understand what she is talking about when she writes something because she leaves out the key words that make the sentence understandable. She gives feedback on work but its not helpful because she doesn't give details.

She is the worst teacher ever. We never went over anything on the test. She would get off tract very easily. The test wouldn't even be on the chapters that she said we would be tested on. The only thing that saved me was the practice test, a lot of the questions were on the test. I highly suggest stay away!!!!

The class itself is pretty easy considering the tests are online and the questions come from a test bank that you have access to. It's just the lecture that I dread. It seems that what we cover is never on the test. And she just talks the whole time, it can be very boring. And she's very opinionated.

She is very smart, but I hate her teaching style. She is very opinionated and acts like you are dumb if you disagree. She also wanders off during lecture a lot. Her tests are very hard and have questions we didn't go over during class & some that weren't even mentioned in the book! Stay away.

Attendance plays a huge role in your grade! Dr. Cain is hilarious and very intelligent and she made this class fun. We always watched movies! She does not give a lot of work but she does teach concepts instead of definitions out of the textbook! Not too many papers for the Summer Semester!

First impression is deceiving and I thought she would be so opinionated that I would not learn but her message is strong if you listen. She opened my mind to different opinions and in the middle of all of that oops, I actually learned something and in most college classes you take it and dump it but her teachings will last a lifetime.

I didn't think she was as bad as everyone is saying. She provides extra credit opportunities, 2nd chances on tests, is very open minded and accepting of all kinds of people. She just wants to broaden peoples mind sets outside of their own. I found our discussions educational.

Guys this class is cake. You take your tests online and all the questions are pulled from a test bank you have access to in the form of the quiz generator. If you are having trouble then you have bigger problems than sociology. The tests questions are word for word from the quiz generator. She welcomes well formed arguments. Great class.

I say without hesitation that this is the worst teacher I have ever had. She is arrogant, condescending, and won't give another opinion the time of day (though she claims to). She constantly bashes men, white people, and the wealthy. Just sitting through her class is a chore. And to top it all off, she can't speak above a whisper. SPEAK UP!

I have her now for intro to gerentology.The text book, practice, quizzes, and power point on d2l don't match up. We get way off topic in class. I am very disappointed in this class. I feel like I have wasted my money and time.

I'm taking her class online, and take my word DON'T DO IT ONLINE! The information in the book is great but she doesn't tell what she wants. The syllabus says one thing, the FAQ section says another, and the dropbox may say something else entirely. You have to try and read her mind. Also, she's really biased about grading.
