DO NOT TAKE ANY CLASSES WITH THIS MAN! I warned you! He is a very harsh and inconsistent grader, and he expects so much from a 100 level course. He seems like a cool guy outside of school, but as a teacher he sucks so bad! For his exams you HAVE to word it exactly the way he wants you to otherwise its wrong. Thumbs down for this man as a teacher.

Honestly one of the most unclear professors I have ever had in my life. He has no consistency. Will mark something right on one test and wrong on another. He gets very behind on his schedule, so just throw the syllabus out the window. Study hard, but he still grades extremely tough.

He was by far the worst professor I've ever had at York College. He was unclear with everything, he didn't outline any expectations, and then didn't offer any help when you went to him with questions. He doesn't say what he wants from you and then gives you 50% on every homework assignment and lab report. Change your major if you need to take him.

Had him for Bio 152 (AKA Evolution, Ecology Diversity). Very vague on instructions and takes off so many points for no reason. Seems like he does not care a lot about this class as he does his ecology and evolution classes. Unfortunately he is the only one that teachs Bio 2 for now.

his exams are all short response and he expects extremely specific answers. I put the definition for a word down as he had it in his powerpoint and he gave me no credit because he wanted what we talked about in lab. Awful professor.

Dr. Kleiner comes off as a nice guy--very excited about biology and willing to get to know his students. However, his grading is EXTREMELY inconsistent, and his expectations (for an undergraduate upper-level class) are unreasonable. He does not understand why his students earn horrible grades and attributes it to lack of effort.

Terrible! Thinks he is the smartest person in the field of Bioloy. Cannot understand why students cannot comprehend everything. Grades extremely hard! Failed my latest lab report, in the corrections column he wrote things like, "Does this make sense to you? Cause it doesnt to me" Who does that? Dont take him if possible...good luck bio majors

If you are interested in learning new things instead of just getting by, then take Kleiner. In his classes I learned so much. They can be tough, but engaging in the labs and lectures is worth it. Before I took his class I heard so many bad things. When I was in the class It was awesome and extremely informative. He's a wonderful professor.

Awesome guy! Funny and down to Earth. The material is a little difficult to understand, but he will ask for questions about a dozen times during one lecture so you have plenty of time to ask him to clarify. Mke yourself known early, let him learn your name and you will be golden. I would most def recommend him for any bio class.

Kleiner expects you to work and study hard, but he'll tell you exactly what he expects before any work begins. He's helpful during office hours. His exams are comprehensive, so keep up on your studying! I found the class to be thoroughly enjoyable; it's definitely one of the highlights from my time at YCP, and I was a psych major.

I thought he was a great prof, one of the best, if not the best, professor of the biology dept. He was always very helpful and helped exam grades with curves. He was also pretty flexible with paper due dates and he even threw out the 3rd lecture exam. Labs were fun. That being said, he can be arrogant/vague, and the class overall is time consuming.

I took him because I knew him from outside of class, seemed awesome then, but appearances can be deceiving. worked my butt off for a whole semester, never missed a lecture or lab, and i ended up with a 1. which i know i didn't deserve. labs are interesting but lectures are really boring.
