If you don't do the homework, you won't pass. Very knowledgeable about the subject and gives great lectures. There are quizzes every Friday and 2 tests. There is also a final. The 2 tests aren't bad. The first deals with integrals and the second deals with series. These are the two main topics of calc 2. Do all the homework he assigns.

If you show up to class, write down everything on the board, and do all of the homework, you will pass the class. The problems for the quizzes and two tests are pulled directly from the homework. If you have trouble, meet up with him even if you can't make office hours. He may even change your grade if you are close and a hard worker.

Lorensen is literally the best math professor. He's awkwardly funny, and makes dumb math jokes only he laughs at. Gives lots of homework, but the quizzes and exams are based directly off of the homework. If you do the homework you will pass. Only grades are the exams and quizzes.

Had Karl for Math 41, 141, and 250. He is by far the best Professor I have ever had. He cares about his students and wants you to do well. Make sure you go to class and do the homework because He does a ton of examples in class. 1-2 question quizzes each week are very similar to that of exams. He is outstanding and must take for math.

Karl's lectures and office hours always proved helpful and super understandable. The class progressed at a solid pace and he usually spends half of the class answering questions about homework assignments. Do the homework and attend class and he will be more lenient with your grade. One of the best math profs and I would recommend taking him!

Comment:
MATH 220 made a lot of sense, it itself was not hard, but the test questions were very math-proof and theoretical. As an engineering major I did not benefit from the theoretical aspect. Also did not explain things well at all. Be prepared to do a lot of outside studying.

As long as you know what your doing, you will be fine. He gave up homework problems and you really need to do them, I end up with A- even though i study only before the exam for 8 hours doing both his problems and review the notes. Note: Never skip any class, his notes is important

One of the best math teachers and probably the best one at Penn State Altoona. Attendance is not mandatory, but you probably gonna fail if you will miss classes. Doesn't check homework, gives weekly quizzes on friday. Amazing teacher and person but you need to work hard to get an A.

If you want to learn calculus THE RIGHT WAY take this guy! tests are tough but if you do some of the homework and go over the example problems done in class you'll do good. He doesn't throw anything at you that you shouldn't already have seen. He is the best teacher in the math at Altoona and one of the top math professors at Penn state as a whole.

BEST MATH PROFESSOR IN ALTOONA. He is a good guy, will take everything in steps so you understand them. And if you don't understand he keeps trying to explain it until you understand. He loves his job haha. His exams are hard though but he gives a lot of partial credit. And you get weekly quizzes so DO YOUR HOMEWORK.

Truly is the best teacher I have ever had. And by far the best math professor available at Altoona. I had to drop out of previous math courses with different profs, he is just crystal clear with perfect speed of material covered and is really a nice guy also. There is a reason why his classes get filled so fast. My favorite teacher I have ever had.

Besides his all out genocide on chalk - once a piece flew half away across the room and left the entire class in stupor - he's, without question, the very best Calculus teacher you can take. If you dedicate yourself to doing the homework and ask him for help, you'll get go0d money.
