Kate is super cool. She's funny and a really excellent artist. She comes into class with a smile, lectures/demos for 20 minutes and the rest of the class is yours to work.

She was obber tough on me. She has a really bad attitude and Honestly I dreaded going to her class.... Didn't get to express myself in my work because she is so tight about her assignments. Wheel throwing was hard to learn because It was not instructed well.

As long as you help with kilns and finish your work using studio hours, you will do fine. Kate is often very flighty and disorganized. She is easily stressed out and takes it out on everyone around her. Loves when you participate and expects it from everyone. Definitely pushes you to get stuff done.

This professor is amazing, she really cares about her students, she doesn't put up with people that don't try and don't show up. Which is good because she puts more focus on the other students. The class i took was a general requirement so she understands that ceramics is not every one's cup of tea but strives to help everyone. She is really funny.

This was the worst professor I have ever had. She was absent more then I was, yet assignments were still due. She did not care, she spent the entire class working on her own wora and letting her TA do all of the teaching for her.

Took her several semesters and still find it ridiculous that she even became a teacher I have yet to see any real passion. She demands effort, which is good, but still hates your work. She basically tells you, "Gonna get coffee!" and disappears for an hour. Avoid her at all costs, even if it means a goat spitting clay in your face for three hours.

Kate is a great prof!! get to know her outside of class time & you will be her new BFF!! If you need help the TA's are more explanatory & may fullfil your questions more fully. Overall shes an amazing person & prof. If you have an interest in art then this is the teacher for you.. shes fun & knows her stuff!!

She makes herself perfectly clear from day one, that it takes TIME outside of class to get good... ceramics is a skill you have to practice, it doesn't come naturally. She is a great teacher, my only complaint is that she can be hard to track down during class for help, and isn't around outside of class, but thats why there are TA's.

Kate can be crazy in a fun way, but she has quite a temper. Don't ask a lot of questions just go to the student teacher, it will make life a lot easier. This class requires A HUGE amount of outside work. And Always turn your stuff in on time, or she will rip you a new one! Kate is not so bad, just don't make her angry.

Her lectures were usually very enjoyable, though critique get a little tedious in the beginning. If you have questions ask her or you won't get help. Also, if you have a lot a credits I would suggest the class, it requires at least some outside time, and the more you put in the better your skills and work will be. She's great!

I was really excited about ceramics and then once I started realizing that the class was a waste of money, it sucked. Kate was never there but gets really mad even wen people would show up 5 minutes late. She would always get coffee, never gave individual attention. You had to basically self-teach and her student teacher did WAY more than she did!

If you're loaded up on credits for the semester don't even bother taking this class. Also don't bother if you're an athlete/ROTC/etc. After 3 missed classes, your grade drops a whole letter grade and nothing counts as an excused absence and I mean NOTHING!!

Pretty good teacher. She knows a lot about ceramics. She helps you if you need it. She has ADD pretty bad so she jumps around a lot when talking. She is a pretty hard grader, but I would take her again because I learned a lot from her. She takes attendance so don't miss class.

Hardly ever in the classroom. During crits she seemed to think my work was good until I got to the final crit where she ripped me to shreds. I will never take a class she teaches again and I even try to avoid her in the halls.

Kate is an incredibly immature teacher...she's self absorbed and can't control her feelings, she gets frusterated very easily by students and questions. Most projects aren't explained very well, and she demands extremely well done craftsmanship, which was good practice, A's are basically impossible
