She is one of the most uninteresting professors on campus. She does not care for student participation and she will give you important assignments that will be due in a really short time period. I would not recommend students who struggle with long reading assignments of essays.

Her classes are extremely boring and dry. History can be fun, but it must be portrayed in a certain way, not in a monotone voice at 8am. I had western civ with her and we basically read the bible every week. Everyone falls asleep within minutes of class starting...

She assigns about 30 pages of reading for every class, but don't worry, you don't need to read. The class consists of her standing at the front of the room rereading what she assigned for that class. For the 10 pg research paper, she didn't approve our thesis statements until 3 weeks before the end of the semester, then gave us 2 weeks to write it.

Incredibly boring. Fairly certain she doesn't actually grade anything in any of her classes, she just assigns them arbitrarily. Great professor to take if you like naps, though! She'll put you to sleep.

Many students complained about the "boring" lectures but I enjoyed most of them. I like the class and the topic and she isn't a hard grader. Read the readings and participate whenever you can or she will glare at the class until someone says something. DO not talk or eat in this class or she'll give you the death stare!!

Directed my attention to fascinating topics and helped me to delve into it deeply. Fine choice of texts and textbooks. Directed and encouraged some of my best projects -- make the most of this class and the material she presents. Not a charismatic, bombastic or arrogant teacher -- but excellent! Took 3 of her classes, thoroughly enjoyed them

Dr. Christensen does a nice job with the textbook choice, but her lecture style is difficult to understand. She tends to make a point, and then make the same point, and again, and again. and does not cover what we read.

Either you really like history and have the astoundingly nerdy ability to enjoy lectures about internal English politics (...okay, I liked this class), or you die a slow and painfully bored death.

Extremely knowledgeable about the subject. Also very easy to get along with and please (also very open to meeting outside of class for extra help). Lectures can be kind of boring as she simply talks for the entire hour. Assigns a lot of reading, but it's possible to get by with simply skimming if necessary (no quizzes).
