Comment:

She is very intelligent and knows what she is talking about. Show up to class, pay attention, and take notes and you can get a C+ to B+ if you put in the effort of studying for exams. Yes you have to work for the grade but it isn't impossible. Ask questions, take advantage of office hours, she will help you.

You start out thinking the class is going to be decent but you drone through 20 civilizations in 1 day and have to remember a select few for an exam. Their is no rubric for the exams. Had to withdrawal just to keep my GPA up. Currently have a 2.9 after dropping. Would never recommend her to anyone. Nick named GPA Buster.

While Reist does have some interesting stories, beware. Her class is hard. Exams are hard and long, and you have no idea what may or may not be on it, and if you think you do, you probably don't. She is, however, very willing to work with you if you happen to have a medical issue while taking her class. Good luck to future students.

Dr. Reist is a very knowledgeable professor. Her classes are very interesting, but be prepared to take in a ton of information. She is very easy to talk to and will help you in any way she can. Usually 3 exams (including a non-cumulative final) and a research paper.

I have taken Dr. reist many times during my career at UPJ. She is one of my favorite professors at UPJ and she is my academic advisor. Lectures are very informative, read the book and prepare for exams and you will do great. If you need help or an extension on your paper just stop in her office and ask. She is very kind and caring. Papers are easy

She loses her train of thought throughout the lecture and cannot form a construction of how the class material should be covered in a clear way. The information was all over the place. She doesn't write notes on the board, so if you don't put it down on paper fast enough she will be on to the next topic. Sigh. Don't take her. For your own sanity.

Had her for a class on the Vietnam War. She definitely knows her stuff, and expects you to know it too. There are lots of notes, and the tests are essays, but she tells you before the test exactly what to study. If you study that it's an easy A. She is also very helpful always with helping you on the paper and to study. Highly reccommend her.

TERRIBLE ! the only good thing is that her lectures are very interesting other then that the test are all essays. she gives you tons of notes and the essay questions won't even be on anything you discussed in class.

HORRIBLE! I cannot believe this woman. I take pages of notes, and got a 50 and a 55. I have taken a similar course in HS, and revieved A's, and the class was the same set-up! I am very discouraged at my failing grade in her class. I shouldve checked here first!

Dr. Reist no doubt knows her subject matter. however, only knock i have is her classes are rather dry. Basically, go to class, listen to her talk, write down everything. study that for the test. Forget the book. It does you no good. I personally can read the book and be fine. Im not a notes person. Hence my downfall.

Steer clear of this professor unless you are a history major. Her tests are, how shall I put this, GPA busters! Seriously! Long essay questions and she really looks for extreme detail. Beware unless your really into history, or lowering your GPA.

This professor clearly knows her subject material, but she flies way too fast through the information and jumps around far too much. She's also too critical in grading the map portion of tests (I was off by literally less than a millimeter and I lost full credit). Her tests you musts study for, but other than that an informative class.

If you want to be bored to death and lower your GPA, take this class. You basically have no chance of getting a decent grade in her class. All of her tests are essay and even writing majors can't get a good grade. Doesn't take attendance and doesn't really care whether you showed initiative during the entire semester. It is absolutely ridiculous!

She's not as hard as everyone says. Don't miss class and take extensive notes and you'll do fine. Her tests are essay, so she can grade them however she wants. So if you go to SI and her office hours, she'll give you a break for putting in an effort.

Write down everything that comes out of her mouth. It will be on the exams. She knows her subject, but I had to work my butt off to get a B in her classes.
