She is a great prof! It is the TA that does the marking. Her tests are clear, but you have to study.

Best seminar I've taken at McGill, due in part to the contributions of the other students but also because Dr. Fallon is a great professor. I wasn't all that interested in the subject, but it was consistently interesting and challenging. The final paper and presentation was surprisingly enjoyable.

If you have room in your schedule, take Sociology of Gender!!! It's the best class I've taken so far in my three years at McGil. Prof. Fallon is eloquent, passionate, and works hard to make lectures engaging and relevant. All you need to do is keep up with the readings, go to class, and form a study group.

Life changing course, only class I wish would have lasted longer. Prof Fallon is a dream professor: very helpful, knowledgable, and wants you to do well. Not difficult to do well, but COME.TO.CLASS. not like you haven't been looking forward to coming all week.

Really good teacher. Keeps lectures focused, interactive and interesting. Very clear on expectations for final paper, and offers a lot of feedback prior to handing it in. First mid-term was a little tricky but the marks were boosted to a B+ avg. The second mid-term was easy. Strongly recommend this class.

Professor Fallon is an incredible teacher. She really cares about her students, the lectures were engaging, most of the readings were interesting (all though some were not). It is not hard to do well in the course if you go to class and do the readings. The TA was very helpful as well. Highly recommended.

definitely bird course. a lot of readings from the course pack are from newspapers. the classes made me so angry that I never went. they often consisted of people talking about their personal lives that added little to the theoritical learning. a lot of class time spent on pointless things like asking students to list gendered toys.

Great class and intro to the gender topic. The lectures and readings were very interesting and the profs style was motivating. The mc in the exam can be often tricky. The TA (Andrew) is unbelievable. His conferences were very well prepared and he spent so much time helping out and answering to questions like this was his fulltime job.

Prof Fallon is an amazing woman, very sweet and takes time to get to know students. Not bad to look at either. A lovely intro to Uni if you can take the course. Lectures are simple. All the basics are on the slides, just fill in additional clarifying info. Essay can be tricky, so plan ahead and use TA for questions!

Great Professor, and very intersting class. But I wasn't expecting the midterm to be that confusing. The MCQs on the exam are very confusing but the short answers are straight to the point. I still recommend the class to everyone. In addition, the T.A. is very helpful, very nice and she knows her material very well, oh and she is very funny, too

She knows her lectures and material presented are fairly easy, so if you do the work and she sees it, you'll get a good grade. I liked how she takes time to get to know students, and does little extras, like emailing them about a problem before it shows up in their grades. Very fair.

Excellent, thought provoaking lectures. Information is kind of spoon fed to you, but good nevertheless. Her multiple choice is brutal, and somehow ended up doing crappy on the first exam, before I learned her tricky questioning style. The average on the first exam was a 66 i think.

Incredibly helpful and caring prof-so great to see in office hours! Very fair, although her MC questions are a bit tricky.Interesting class, with lots of examples, but lacks a bit of depth and may be too superficial for those with a background in development.I really love her, but try her out first.
