More of a politician than a professor. Once you realize she's a clown it becomes amusing to watch her twist herself into a pretzel to justify her political views. Play along, enjoy the show, get your A, and realize that nothing you learn from her has any relevance in the real world.

anyone who says kathleen mahoney isn't a great human rights prof is an idiot (or never took the class). she's supportive and approachable. the folks who grumble about her fall into 3 categories: 1. jealous u of c law profs who are nationally/internationally irrelevant, 2. rumourmongers, or 3. rounthwaitites

She is an amazing person, freakishly smart, but such an awfull prof. She's so scattered, ALWAYS out of town (usually before the supreme court or something equally impressive), and seems to grade by throwing things down the stairs and seeing what lands the farthest. go talk to her, but don't take her classes (if you can help it)!
