Comment:

Kathleen is cute, funny, and knowledgable. Her lectures were fun but not super mandatory (she puts the slides online). You're graded on a few (very easy) multiple choice exams and a few (short and also easy) "papers" (though they tend to be more like a series of essay questions, and you can write whatever). An interesting class and an easy A.

By far the best professor I have ever had. Absolutely amazing as a person & a professor. She's so well traveled, understanding, knowledgeable, kind, funny, & has a story for everything. She's passionate about every topic she teaches (201, 330, 353, 490, etc). Every class w/ her boosts my mood and she has literally changed my life (for the better.)

Kathy is hands down one of my favorite profs in the Anth dept. She's hilarious, her lectures are great, and while there is a lot of reading, it's all interesting and relevant. Exams are easy, she goes over all the material and puts review sheets on canvas. If you haven't taken a class with her, you need to!

Kathleen is great! 301 is a useless class but she makes it interesting and accessible. Prepares you well for tests by having a review essay and provides plenty of study material. BTW she rarely uses the book readings in tests. Wish more profs were like her, lectures are awesome and interesting, she's knowledgeable, sweet, and cares about Anthro!

My favorite professor. After taking my first class with her, I have managed to repeatedly fit classes with her into my schedule. It is totally worth it. She is engaging, intelligent and wants to learn from you as much as you learn from her. Would recommend to anyone.

Dr. Young was great! The readings were great, but often didn't connect much with the class, and we never discussed them except as reviews before the midterms. Dr. Young really made sure to let us discuss and write about in our weekly assignments what we thought was interesting, so everyone could find something that interested them.

I love Dr. Young! She is a wonderful person and so fun to listen to. I really enjoyed taking this class, even with the somewhat morbid topics, because she makes them fun and bearable. Take her if possible :)

Kathy has become like a mother to me. Very personable, insightful, and truly cares for her students. I had her for 301 and fell in love, so I sought her out for every other class I could. Took 456 and 490, loved it. She makes morbid topics very digestable. She's also adorable and very funny in her own cute Kathy way...

Prof Young is one of the best at WWU. Her teaching style is educational, fun, inclusive, thought-provoking. Tests and essay assignments are reasonable and purposeful. Heavy textbook reading, but manageable. She is approachable and personable; take a class from her if you can!

Keep up with her notes. The class is easy, tests are easy if you know the basics on the theorists. She doesn't try to trick you on tests. I would recommend trying to attend her classes because she does go on tangents that could become questions. Lovely lady, so brilliant.
