Professor Hoffmann is WONDERFUL! Freaks&Monsters is a very easy class if you just attend lecture, which is always really interesting. There are short readings for homework, but most of them are really cool stories anyway. Gives lots of extra credit opportunities. Attend every class and you'll get an A, easy

Professor Hoffmann is an A-MA-ZING teacher! She's very passionate about what she teaches, and loves her students. She assigns lots of reading, but it shouldn't take more than an hour. Take lots of notes! If you ever have a problem concerning the class, email her or talk to her. She's very helpful and wiling to help her students in any way she can.

Great teacher! She has lots of review sessions (her TAs do) and they're super helpful! There's a quiz every class though so you should be there. Also, write down EVERYTHING she says because all of it is on the tets but super interesting material! But I'm serious, write it all down. I used my laptop!

class was interesting... she's very energetic. helpful and wants you to do well, although i had no clue what my grade would be throughout the semester, it ended up fine. go to class, no homework other than keeping up with in class notes, one film project with classmates, a lot of talking...but that's expected, it's "french conversation"

She's an awesome professor. You can tell she really loves her work and she cares about her students. Make sure to read the materials, and go to class because there are daily quizzes on the assigned readings. Material is fun and interesting. Tests are some what difficult but if you study, it shouldn't be that hard. I reccomend this class!

The material in this class is awesome. However the professor herself is narscasistic. She acts like what she is teaching is god, she just tries to get people to like her. The class is fun but she always has her "minions" around. Just don't expect her to give you the drive and motivation that some really good professors do. Hate her, love the class

This class was amazing and probably my favorite so far. You have to make sure to keep up with all the readings and watch all the movies since there are quizzes all the time. The material is really interesting and Professor Hoffmann is really fun and she tries to get to know each of her students. She is very helpful and easy to talk to.

Really, I can't recommend this professor enough! The material is interesting, she makes everything fun-this was definitely one of my favorite classes so far. She obviously loves what she teaches and all her students. If you read all the assignments, this class'll be easy. Your daily quiz grades can also take place as your final exam grade, too.

She's an awesome teacher; she's personable and tries to get to know the students. Lots of reading material but Hoffmann usually chooses interesting stories. Go to class, take the quizzes, and read the stories - that's pretty much it. Very cool class and professor.

"Freaks and Monsters" <-- how could you not be interested?? I LOVED this class. Kathryn was very informative, mad class fun and exciting, had plenty of things to show in class. You will learn the dark side of fairytales / it's characters, about Circus Shows in the past, and you will gain respect for those individuals that live with their deformaties in society today. LOVES her students, and is MORE THAN WILLING to help you after class. Really sweet and caring.

Definitely recommended. She is an awesome teacher-really cares about her students. Her class is fool-proof. She sets it up in a way that makes it relatively impossible for you to fail. The course material is very interesting. Even if you don't particularly care for her (which is unlikely), the material will draw you into lectures. Sign up for Freaks & Monsters!!
