one of the worse classes at tcu. First off, she doesn't use a powerpoint, she puts up word documents with paragraphs on them that she expects you to copy down, grades extremely hard on papers, talks about random stuff and than test you on the book.

It is a hard class. The tests are essay and you have to write fast. You learn a lot though. As a first semester freshman, it definitely was a bit of a shock on the first test, but by the final I understood how to manage it.

I took her honors survey 1348-1789 and LOVED it. She makes class extremely interesting and enjoyable to go to. As long as you take good notes and study them you are good to go for the tests, which are all essay. This was by far my favorite class ever, I highly recommend it.

MUST go to class and take extensive notes. Low class participation. Tests are essay tests so you need to know your stuff well to get through it all. But the positive to that is there are only 5 questions so they are typically pretty obvious and can be somewhat broad. An A is possible just be prepared to put in 3-5 hours of work per test

She knows what she is talking about, but she really limits student participation during class. If you like sitting there and listening to someone talk for an hour, then this is the class for you. If not, I would take someone else.

This lady is insane! I am a history major and I have made an A in every history class I have ever taken, except for this psycho woman's class. The main problem is, you have no idea what to expect or what she exactly wants. You are on your own and you have to teach yourself. TCU History Department is full of great teachers and she is not one.

Overall nice professor. She goes rather slow but her lectures are interesting. She gives really broad topics for her essays but she's a fair grader. For her tests, speed writing is required.

Tests are ridiculous. Not only do you have to know your stuff in here, but you also have to be a burner when it comes to writing quickly. That said, her lessons are usually interesting and she's always willing to help you outside of class when you need it. Really a nice and helpful prof.

Honors European hist 1348-1750. Knows her stuff and makes it interesting. Tests are too long, write fast and concisely or run the risk of not getting it all down, and she grades hard on tests and essays. Nice lady who will review papers by email, but she won't change a grade on a paper by even a point or two. Stay on her good side.

Her tests are ridiculous to try to study for because they are all essay and identification. There are only two tests as well, the mid term and final. She more than makes up for it with her passionate attitude everyday. She really got me interested in a class I did not think I would like.

If you like history, you will like this class. Don't buy the textbook, lectures are very detailed, if you don't write fast consider a recorder. Tests come from material streesed in the lecture. Outside readings are not great, but the paper over them are easy.

She expects way to much out of you. For a freshman level class it is very tough, i am a junior and i made the worst grades i have ever made in a history class. she always tries to tell you how to be a better person. dont take her unless your up for a tough one.

Very passionate about what she's teaching which helps make the subject more interesting. Only 2 tests so there is so much information you have to know for each of them and she gives you no heads up on what she might put on the test. You have to take amazing notes, never skip class, and study forever

Perhaps the most boring class Ive endured at TCU...and Im a history major. Topics were not interesting and she spent more time trying to indoctrinate us and speak about ideals and her feelings that a lot of facts weren't covered. Maybe its just that Ima facts guy, but I couldnt stay awake.

Lectures well, but you must take notes to pass. Don't bother buying the text. 2 tests and a paper. Likes writing with lots of flavour... make your paper fun to read and you'll net a better grade.
