She was the absolute worst teacher I've ever had in my life. There is not one good thing I got from this teacher. She is so degrading and does NOT practice what she preaches. By all means, take ANY other professor.... She gave me this grade on purpose.

Generally, I put forth more academic effort than my peers and generally find that I am able to achieve in my courses because of this. However, the grade you receive in Smith is more reflective of how your exegetical papers align with the very specific (and unreasonable) qualifications of the rubric and her own theological opinions. Buyer beware....

Great class and discussions, however she does express her own views on theology quite a lot if you're not into that. Two midterms (basically two tests) but she gives study guides so it's straightforward and easy if you study, same for final. Weekly discussion posts, few journal summaries and a few papers. If you apply yourself, you'll do fine.

I took this class online, Professor Smith is very nice and very understanding. She gives opportunity for extra credit and her study guides for tests are very clear and helpful. 4 threaded discussions per week, a lot of reading, and weekly quizzes. Only two exegetical Papers. I learned a lot in her class, she is great!!

Her online class isn't too bad; I'd recommend it. You just have to skim the readings, do a lot of discussion posts, and utilize the study guides (which are helpful) for the tests. Yes, her requirements and rubric for the papers are SO anal. Never seen so many do's and dont's for a paper, but just put effort into it and you'll be OK.

This Professor is one of the abosolute WORST professors I have ever had, she is not there to teach, but rather to reinforce her own twisted theology. Her class is a waste of time, we had TWO midterms..TWO MIDTERMS. she is an anal grader with her papers! Also we have to sign in on the online class a minimum of 4 days a week! STAY AWAY!

Kay is so wonderful! She has true care for her students and is not afraid of explaining the more complicated issues. In Israel she helped us grasp a better understanding of the culture and was always accessible.

Smith is one of the best professors at APU. She is a Christian with an awareness of reality. Only a denial of the world around us will lead us to reject things like feminism. Kay is difficult, but she has a lot of knowledge and wisdom to bestow. I recommend you take her if you are willing to be challenged. Isn't that what you came to APU for?

I honestly didn't learn much, unfortunately. She's liberal, not that that's necessarily a bad thing. Also: here paper requirements are ridiculous and very anal. Be ready for the most meticulous form grader ever. She is a very nice woman though. Also, DO THE READING and STUDY FOR THE TESTS!

This prof really bugged me because I didn't learn ANYTHING! Also, don't be fooled by the easy midterms. Her final is ridiculous, and has geography. It reminds me of a high school history final, where you need to know a whole bunch of really stupid, useless info. Of course, that's her class. Other than that, easy prof. Kay is such a wonderful teacher. She really wants to talk to you, pray for you, review your papers, discuss the tests- basically anything she can do for you. She only gives 2 three page papers, she gives really helpful study guides, and the homework is really relevant and eye-opening. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN CULTURAL DIVERSITY TAKE THIS CLASS!!!

Luke/Acts online. Loved her lectures - textbook reading is EXTREMELY relevant. Her discussions are thought-provoking (although controversial). She doesn't beat around the bush, and also doesn't pander to societal norms. Loved her. Got almost 100% in the class.

Kay knows how to dig into text (and teach her students how to also) like no theo prof i've had before at APU. she wants to have coffee with you, she wants you to ask her questions, she wants you to succeed. if you think she was rude, you were probably rude to her first. i can't imagine smith being at all short with her students.
