Comment:

Mrs. Long seemed to be very nice, and I was excited to take her class. However, after the first online discussion post, I realized how it was going to be. Discussions counted as test grades, and our class average on the very first one was a 58%. She wants you to answer questions she never asked and often unreasonable with her expectations.

Professor Long is hands down the worst online professor I have ever taken from in my college career at Chattanooga State. She is untimely, rude, and unwilling to help her online students in any way. She is a tough grader and takes off points for things she didn't even have listed as a requirement to answer. This is my first C in almost two years!

Comment:

Amazing teacher. Plenty of studying required, but Long provides notes and example questions with answers, as well as many extra credit opportunities. Great personality, she clearly wants her students to succeed and is willing to help them.

Taking this class online now. This is the only class that's been extremely frustrating to me at Chattanooga State. She wants things done a certain way but is very unclear of this until she gives feedback. how is that fair? The tests are long and difficult because they are very specific questions instead of subjective. Do not take online!!

Comment:

Lots of extra credit potential. She types up condensed notes for you and you print them off and use them to answer the study questions which is all of the test. Everything is laid out before you and she is very clear and extremely helpful. The study questions take a while to complete but its very easy. No comprehensive final and only 4 tests

Answer all the study guide questions. Study and know your stuff because all of it will be on the tests. She is very knowledgeable and passionate. Gives lots of extra credit opportunities. Already had an A before the final exam. Would take again.

Best history teacher in my opinion! Her lectures are always good and she makes class fun! As long as you answer all the study questions and study them you'll do good on tests! Her NOT questions and written questions are hardest. Only one paper, but it's really easy. No book, she's made her own notes to teach from that you print from online.

I really enjoyed her class. She is willing to meet with you at any time. She does not require a textbook; instead, she types all of your notes and study questions for you and allows you to post study question answers online where she will check them before a test.

The notes are hard to understand and she's a pretty confusing teacher.. She goes pretty fast and doesn't stop for questions. She talks a lot too and the study guide is super long and I am pretty sure I am going to fail her class

Took an online summer class. Does not require a text book. The 4 test required to take are extremely hard and nearly impossible to pass. The study guide is ridiculous. The 2 other activities are graded very hard as well. One of the hardest classes I've taken in my 3 years of college.

Does not require textbook. Gives clear notes. Study guides are long but notes are accurate and this material is what is on the test. Comp assignments are relevant to what is being studied. Prof responsive when seems like the whole class is having diff with an assignment and gives extra credit or extensions.

I really liked her! Her tests are VERY detailed but if you do the study guide she gives you (also very detailed) you will ace the test! She is very sweet but sometimes very slow to reply to emails. All in all I loved her class- I never cared for History but she is a good story teller.
