I took African American Religious Traditions with Prof. Naylor and while his lectures weren't always the most interesting his passion for the material made the class come to live. My class wasn't very talkative but Prof. Naylor always had something to add on and his genuine care for the subject made him an invaluable resource in and out of class.

I just started Prof. Naylor's Environmental Ethics and Religion course and I'm already so inspired by the material, by his committment to students (I've already been to office hours twice this week and he is so gracious and warm and spend time talking to me both times!). I can't wait for this semester and to take more courses from Prof. Naylor.

Great lecturer, definitely knows his stuff. Sometimes he gives condescending looks and doesn't accept opinions other than his own, but he does a great job of explaining and the readings he chooses are interesting and not too difficult. Tests are predictable.

Ahh how ignorant you are! It was the first writing class I had EVER taken and on the contrary I got an A in the class. However, Keith Naylor does not know to teach students how to write in the college setting; he merely teaches you how to write for him

Fantastic teacher. Passionate, a great help during office hours and just an all around great guy. Disregard the comments below that try to say that Naylor is a poor teacher. The kids probably just bitter because he took his first class in college, got a poor grade, and then came to the stark realization that he is in fact a complete idiot

Terrible professor. Knowledge base limited to American religious diaspora movements and thus has little ability to engage many types of disciplines. Curved a test lower because the material was "too easy" and does not encourage writing development; successful papers are only those that regurgitate what he said in class. Does not inspire.

Very passionate about what he teaches, but almost too passionate. Often times if you don't agree with his interpretation, he will shut you out indirectly. The entire structure of his class discourages divergent thinking because it follows several narrow objectives far too strictly. I had to go to the CAE for writing help because he couldn't help me

Top-notch prof. Avails himself of the benefits of Oxy's small class size: had round-table-style discussions every class period. Being up on reading was imperative. The discussions were incisive and powerful. Office hours were also plentiful and helpful. This professor single-handedly convinced me to pursue RS for an undergrad degree. Recommended.

Naylor is very itelligent and passionate, and although the classes weren't particularly difficult, I learned a lot. He cares about his subjects and his students. Definitely take one of his classes!
