Kell is one of the most influential teachers in the Art department. He truly cares about all students and not only their ability to draw, yet that they move on to be sincere, honest, and successful professionals. No favoritism or arrogance has ever been shown. Kell is really cool! I admire him not only as a teacher, but also as a person and artist. I dreaded taking electronic imaging, but the class really turned out to be fun, and I learned quite a bit! He's very hip, and he assigns imaginative projects and always has interesting music playing while the students work!

oh my goodness! kell is absolutely wonderful. he creates a comfortable, pressure-free enviornment and he's an absolute delight. he's sweet, cute, real, amusing, and an excellent teacher. not to mention, he sings and plays the ukelele! so charming. i believe he realy can teach anyone to draw! (maybe) haha

hes a very nice guy, and very helpful. but he doesn't seem to care how much of an improvement a student has done over the course. which is frustrating because one tries really hard to draw but he doesn't see. all he cares about is his 'pets' that have been drawing since they were in diapers. its very hard to impress him and get an A.

Pretty awesome teacher. Classes are fun, good music, likes to dance. Great artist, very knowledgeable, always does examples. Wants students to learn how to correct their OWN work after a bit, but will still come over and help if you need or ask for it.

Kell is in the top three of the most influential professors I've encountered at Austin Peay. I never thought I could draw before taking his Drawing I class, and I was dead wrong. He is funny, insightful, helpful, and incredibly knowledgeable not only about art but about music as well. Take his class, please. I promise you won't regret it.

This class is ridiculous. Grading is based on what the professor thinks is pretty, rather than what is accurate. He is basically useless, drawing for himself rather than doing his job--helping his students. He actually told us that his art is more important than his students (not just his students' art). If your art is melodramatic, you'll do well.
