His teaching and **** style is ok, and on par with other teachers. His grading system is what is messed up. His TAs run scripted tests on your code, so if you miss anything you fail. 99% of the class failed the second assignment (0-20% grade). All my grades came back as "Test 26a-d: Failed -60 points," which tells me jack about what I screwed up.

Professor is a genius, and lectures are informative. He expects perfection while dishing out imperfection. Spent more time arguing assignment discrepancies to save my grade than I did programming. No time to critically think on quizzes/tests, so you have to memorize code and learn to write FAST.

The teacher knows his material well but he expects too much from his students. His tests are really hard and his programming assignments come weekly and it feels like you either don't know how to do it or you don't have enough time to if you do know it.

Reasonably good instructor. Excellent course design and textbook. Keep the textbook. Class is too big for one prof without TA. Prof. grades programs automatically, which means that naming an identifier differently from what he expects will result in a 0.

Smart and knowledgable in his field. I got the feeling was looking down on everyone else. Became exhasperated if the "basics" were not known. Exams were very difficult.

Overall, a good professor. Moo book is one of the best C++ books around. HW can kill you, so keep up with it. Take home coding tests are unreasonable, but in class portions are simple. Go to class, quizzes are cake and really boost grade.
