First off if you're a bio major and taking orgo just for the MCATs or stuff like that, you're going to hate every orgo teacher. Dr. Slunt is an excellent teacher, passionate about chemistry and will get you to understand the material easily.

She's an awesome professor. Her tests are difficult, but she's very helpful (especially in office hours if you're struggling). I found that I had a very good understanding of this semester of orgo, which is necessary for doing well second semester. (Also for pre-med students: you'll have to take biochem and you need to understand orgo for it).

Horrible... really have nothing else to say but avoid taking any chem class with her like the plague. Pretentious instructor and quite annoying to be completely frank

Professor Slunt is really smart but she has no idea how to teach GenChem. She was really confusing bc she occasionally messed up on ex problems in class and wouldn't catch it. I went to her office, and felt dumb when I didn't understand things that I guess she found easy. She's prob better in high level courses but take Dr. Giancarlo if ever possi

Biochem is tough, but she made it really interesting. It was obvious she enjoys the subject, and she was very helpful in office hours. her ppts were great for lecture, posted completed notes online. Lots of extra credit and contract grading. Second semester is even better since the class is smaller.

Not terrible, but not great, either. She's used to teaching upper level Chem, so her tests can be a little demanding. Labs/group proj/ quizzes are fairly easy. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you don't go you're going to have a tough time learning the material from the book.

She makes organic chem easy(er). Her lectures are all PPt, and she talks too fast for them not to be. She just got a tablet PC that helps a TON in lectures. Reasonable exams, but orgo is hard and requires lots of studying time EVERY week. I'd recommend her to anyone who needs/wants to take orgo. Very approachable and friendly.

I hate all chem with a passion, so orgo was not such a thrill, but Dr. Slunt made it probably as easy as it could get...but thats still very hard. Labs were not bad, but you HAVE to do good on the pre-lab quizzes. Very nice and approachable. I would aviod the course all together, but if you must take it, I would recommend Slunt.

Dr. Slunt does her best to make this course fun. The topics covered are mixed between real chem and world events so even someone bad at chemistry can survive. Great for the non major looking to get a science credit out of the way.

Lots and lots of work, but it really ends up helping you in the end. Great teacher, extremely helpful, loves her students. It's a hard class regardless of who teaches it, and she did a fantastic job. Her grading is hard but fair. Definitely take it with her if you can.

Dr. Slunt is very helpful, but she seems to forget that students are taking other classes besides her. She is probably the best prof for organic, but she expects a lot! Very approachable.

Slunt is very good. But keep this in mind unlike orgo in biochem she is a master of conceptual questions and specificity of general concepts. Kinda odd sometimes.
