I think Dr. Callis is a great instructor. Yes, you will have a moderate amount of work (if you can call forum participation "work"!) and you are expected to participate in these posts. You will also have quizzes, (fairly straightforward) and few tests. I strongly recommend Dr. Callis!

I had Dr. Callis for both PY101 and UI100. Both times, I really enjoyed the class, materials, and the respect we got from Dr. Callis. He truly wants to see his students excel. He really goes above and beyond to make sure the class understands the lesson and can apply what we learn to real life.

I had Dr. Callis for PY440. I enjoyed the class, the subject matter was very interesting. Dr. Callis was helpful and friendly. His lectures were good and on topic. The work he assigned was pertinent to the weekly topic. I also enjoyed the forums that went along with the topics as you often learned more about other individuals in the class.

I had Dr. Callis for Sanity Throughout the Ages and it was awful. As a person he seems really nice and his lectures were interesting but UI-100 classes are useless to begin with and most of his assignments were pointless and he wasn't very helpful

Dr. Callis himself- nice guy. Dr. Callis as a professor- awful. He lost two of my papers, wouldn't respond to my e-mails, and drags out an incredibly long research paper the whole semester. Plus we had at least 7 internet sites to browse through a week and a forum he expected us to exhaust. Not to mention, I didn't learn a thing in this class.

Absolutely hated his Sanity Through the Ages class. I had to drop it halfway through because he just infuriated me. He had a lot of pointless assignments that I learned nothing from. However, if you're looking for an easy A and don't care about learning, he's the teacher for you. He was very nice though, but wasn't helpful if you like to ask ?s

Dr Callis is awesome! He is clear, very helpful, easy to approach and talk to, and has a great open-door policy. The class was informative and easy if you just pay attention and follow the rules. I highly recommend this professor and his psychology classes!

He is a fairly nice guy, and he tries to make jokes and keep you interested. He is not very helpful when it comes to answering questions about an assignment, though. He drug the research paper out over the entire semester and piled on smaller assignments on top of that. Not a very fun class and time consuming.

Very easy teacher. All tests are open book and online. Pretty easy A if you can scan a book quick. Very nice and lots of easy grades like bonus quizzes. Strongly encourage you to take him, best Psych teacher at SEMO

He is extremely good teacher. However, we have to do a forum every week. That is the hardest stuff for this class. Try to take the exam together with groups or other people to get good grate. You gonna crazy if you take by yourself. Have fun.. He is the Best for me...

Took this class online. Pay very close attention to the details in his instructions! Takes off points for little things. You have to be very thorough in forums and assignments to get full credit. Tests are multiple choice and have some "gimme" questions. Learned a lot- would definitely take again. Expect to work and be very detailed with answers

I loved this guy! The class was easy and Dr. Callis is funny. Just spend some time on the forums each week and take your time on the online test. He kept my attention and I learned alot! I reccommend him to anyone.

He was an alright guy. It was hard to know what he really expected you to know on tests. If you have a Mac, be prepared to take the online tests on campus. They can't be done on a Mac. He did tend to give sarcastic answers to legitimate questions sometimes. He was just so-so.

His class is way too hard for a 101 class. Don't bother taking notes when he lectures off of his powerpoint. Instead, print off the presentations and study from them. His tests are extremely hard, but they are online. Presentations aren't too bad if you get a decent group.

This class seems fairly easy, however his criteria and grading scale change with his attitude. Don't bother asking for help because he clearly has better things to do and couldn't care less about your grade. I thought he was a nice guy until he refused to help me with an issue I had due to his lack of detail on the assignment. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

This class seeemed like it would be easy going into but it wasn't at all. He does not explain the info very well, taking notes is impossible because he goes through the PPT so fast. It is nice his tests are online but they are very hard! I had asked for help and he was just jerk with smart alek responses, all i wanted was to do good in his class.

Had him for freshman intro course. LOTS OF WORK. In addition to in class assignments and work, you also have equally as much, if not more online. gives outrageous numbers of links for info you are responsible for on tests. online tests were nice tho. good guy, bad teacher.
