This was an easy class...but I didn't learn anything. During the critique he just says oh thats nice...and doesn't tell you what you can improve on and then gives you a B. But if you want an easy grade...he's the professor.

The class was one of the best art classes I've ever taken. He lets you find your own way with ceramics. All he wants is that you try as many different things as you can to experince it. Also there were only three tests and he graded you 60-40. 60% went with what you did better in (clay making or test taking) and 40% what you didn't do so hot with.

Ken is kooky and has a rather impressive knife collection that, if you take his class, he will bring in to show you. He is pretty hard to read as far as what he wants out of his students. Study for the written tests and you'll do just fine. It's the subjective type of work that is hard to get a grip on. He also tends to make you watch boring movies. It could be worse. Overall Ken is cool, but don't miss ANY class or be late on ANY projects. Oh yeah, he earns extra points for being a Harry Potter fan.

He covers a vast array of cool stuff. Many of the things he tells you are things you probably haven't heard of before. The lectures are boring,but you need to take EXTREMELY good notes. Tests are from the lectures and some video stuff as well. He's a better art teacher than academic. He's studio classes show how cool he is-aesthetics not so much.

"Fire in the Arts" was a wonderful class with both videos of 100's of uses for fire and hands on fire in a lab. Thankfully, it was taught as an eye-opening experience instead of an academic mountain range one must scale.

Fire in the Arts. Easy if you show you know the materail. Take notes on movies to avoid researching the final. Fun, creative, unusual class style. Try for projects over papers, but may cost money for materials, and papers are easier.
