Great teacher. I was never one to participate at all in high school but I looked forward to class and expressing my opinions - the books and discussions were so interesting. Flexible with grades, lots of editing opportunities with him/peers, plus you can rewrite one of the 3 papers for a better grade. One of my favorite teachers I've had. No tests

Excellent professor, great guy. Engages class in discussions which not only add to the course, but help to broaden your own knowledge and way of thinking. Always willing to help, especially with proofreading and editing. Very flexible also, extended due dates on several occasions. Highly recommend him!

This class was a great class to take in the morning. Pobo is lively and always enthusiastic. He really cares about his students opinions and stories. Always great discussions. I loved the class as a whole. However, he is the harshest grader I have ever experienced. I literally worked my butt off just for a B.

Dr. Pobo's class was so much fun!! You don't talk about all of the boring stuff about literature but more about how it relates to modern day problems and we have some fun debates. Grading can be a little harsh, but not impossible. Awesome teacher!!

I took Pobo for Honors English and loved it. I usually hate writing enriched humanities courses, but Pobo really made this class fun. Great class discussions every day, and he is very open-minded. I openly disagreed with his viewpoints in my papers, but I still got an A. He is very respectful of other people's opinions. Fun class.

Great teacher. He really makes the literature come alive. He doesn't just focus on breaking the text down into little pieces, but focuses on the social contexts and how it actually relates to our lives, as well. His grading standards are really tough, but if you get an "A" in his class, you know you earned it.

Dr. Pobo is the most animated teacher I have ever had...He is so passionate about poetry and it excitement is contagious. However, it is extremely difficult to get an A in his class - but it atleast gives you something to strive for. I love him.
