He's not that bad, but the class is hard. He uses examples straight out of the book so you have limited examples. You have to do a lot of out of class work. He's an extremely boring lecturer and belittles people who ask questions.

Dr. Laali is a pretty good teacher. He is very knowledgeable and has high expectations of students. If you put in the work it is possible to get a good grade even though this class is extremely difficult. He is a tough grader, but his tests are fair.

Dr. Laali is an awesome teacher. Anyone who says he's a bad teacher most likely was expecting to be spoon fed. He gave all the information that he tested us on and was extremely knowledgeable. Not only that, if there was any confusion he would spend as much time as you needed to clarify in his office hours. He's a phenomenal teacher, great class :)

The course is challenging and requires outside studying and reading just as other upper division classes require. Dr. Laali is very knowledgable in the area of organic chemistry. He is willing to answer questions and is very approachable. Do not expect him to reteach you the material if you haven't done the proper preparations.

For people on such a career path he is an invaluable resource; many of the negative reviews from this professor are likely from students not interested in chemistry at all - take them with a grain of salt. very knowledgeable-competent instructor,teaches with mechanistic emphasis, i am a chem major and he taught me a lot, tests are demanding, his style is to teach organic in a logical way to be able to connect the dots and with minimal memorization.

I hate this man..plain and simple. He cares nothing about how his students are doing in the class. He is extremely lazy and will rarely show any mechanism on the board but he expects you to be able to regurgitate it straight from the book exactly the way it appears. God forbid that you forget brackets or a spectator ion as you lose big points. BOO!

He copies rxns onto blackboard from his notes but is unable to answer questions not directly answered in his notes. He has weak grasp of concepts and gets rxns mixed up. If low on time, skip class. Reading book and doing its practice probs very important. Final is very hard so do really well on tests and quizzes early in semester.

Slightly boring but answers any questions asked. Always looking for new students to work in lab. Does a lot of great organic research but not very people oriented. He's a tough grader so be VERY careful of your accuracy.

This guy was the faculty instructer for my orientation class I saw him once when we had to have sone sort of interveiw with him and he's terrifing he started questioning me about a "B" frankley I wouldn't take a class with him if I had to.
