This was an easy class. There is a text but rarely used most of test is based off lecture. His study guides don't always match the exam. The scoring of the test kind of sucks its 4 pts for t/f and MC so you cant miss many. But there was a lot of EC so it was easy to get an A. Don't miss more than 3 classes without an excuse.

Talks about his days as an archeologists a lot. Lectures are a bit scattered. Notes are hard to take. Class is generally easier. Test and quizzes make up most of the points. Gives study guide and most of the stuff from the book isnt on test. Test is basically made up from confusing lectures. Decent professor, very nice guy, would take this class

I enjoyed Atkinson! He lectures the whole time. I found his lectures entertaining. He was an archaeologist so he has fun personal stories. There are 4 books he wants you to read (eg Beowulf) but you can get by with SparkNotes. He wasn't clear on what he expected from exams. I didn't open the textbook once, but I recommend at least skimming it.

I did not really enjoy this professor. He would put up a slide with a ton of words on it but lecuture about something different than the slide so you have to decide which one you are going to write down and most of it doesn't make sense. You watch a lot of videos that are not helpful. I did not enjoy him and would really recommend.

For a Humanities class, this class is relatively "chill" compared to the horror stories I have heard from friends. Atkinson is a truly nice guy who gives lots of free points through attendance and easy campus reflections. The only problems are it is very easy to fall asleep in his class and his tests sometimes have material that you havent covered

He is a really nice professor, but lectures can become very boring. Make sure to study for the T/F quizzes. The tests are easier. He sends out emails before every test/quiz with a study guide, but they always seem to contain more information than what is on the actual quizzes/tests.

Atkinson is great professor and I would take a class of his again. The lectures are either interesting or drag on depending on your interest in the subject. He has been all over the world; so he has a lot of great pictures and stories. Quizzes and test are not too difficult as long as you study. Very helpful, friendly, and approachable.

He has been everywhere and has really amazing stories and pictures from his travels! He knows everything and he makes his lectures very interesting. His tests and quizzes are pretty easy as long as you fill out the study guides. He assigns readings but you can pass easily without doing them. Overall, he's a great professor!

Professor Atkinson is one of the better Humanities professors at UNI. His tests are really easy, so the slightly more difficult True/False quizzes are what decide your grade. He shows videos in class and is actually a pretty interesting guy if you talk to him.

He grades you on how much you come to class. Test are super easy because he pretty much tells you what is going to be on the test and quizzes. However, the lectures are long and boring but he doesn't notice if you are on your phone or not. He is super nice. You don't need to buy all the extra books if you don't plan on reading them.

Took Humanities 1 with him and it was okay. The lecture's got really boring, but the lectures are really important. Pay attention to the lectures and you'll pass. His tests are short and pretty easy. There's not much homework, if any really. He makes really corny jokes that are funny sometimes. Remember always bring your books to football games!

Often provided a list of things to know for quizzes/tests, then quizzes/tests you on the exact opposite thing. Very misleading in my opinion.

I slept through class every single day. Got a B+. Attendance DOES matter unfortunately; I believe you can miss around 3 days before your grade starts to lower. IF YOU JUST WANT TO GET YOUR HUMANITIES CREDIT(S) OUT OF THE WAY, TAKE IT WITH THIS MAN!

Lectures are long and fast. Proffessor is not clear about what to know. Your book will become your best friend. Grades are very unclear. Very hard to talk to and understand. Absolutely awful teacher, would not reccommend.

Professor Atkinson has a really odd but funny sense of humor. He is very knowledgeable! His lectures are fairly boring, but attendance matters. His quizzes are all true false and they're harder than the tests. I overall really enjoyed this class.

He's a really easy humanities professor and tells you everything that will be on the tests and quizzes. Only have one paper in the semester and it's reflective. Very lenient grader. He's got some pretty interesting stories as well. Definitely would recommend.
