Super nice and chill teacher. There are only a few assignments throughout the course like 1 final project (no final test), and a few papers on books that you have to read. Really nice teacher! Definitely recommend!

Sweet old man who loves what he teaches; sort of a tough grader but it depends on the assignment, definitely recommend Beatles first-year seminar if you want a fun and interesting class

I had Campbell for FYS The Beatles. He is really passionate and knows a ton about the Beatles. He talks and rambles on a lot but he's very sweet and cares about his students. No tests or quizzes only reading and answering Q's + listening to music for HW. Theres some essays but they're not bad at all. I loved this class. Take him!

Dr. Campbell is my favorite Professor. He is kind and willing to listen to comments and concerns. His lectures are interesting and his grading is very fair. He leaves lots of notes on papers including constructive criticism and encouraging comments. I had him for Western Civ. 2, British Isles 1, and will have him for two more upper-level classes

While the class was okay the amount of work was short of ridiculous. We had to outline the ENTIRE textbook (each chapter was about 30 pages and we had to outline each chapter for homework) On top of that we had to read 3 novels, averaging about 250 pages each. Then we had three major papers averaging about 5 pages each.

I was very interested in the topic before taking the class and Campbell only extended that interest! He's a great Prof & he wrote the textbook, so as long as you skim through the chapters you'll do fine!! I enjoyed the class so much. Discussion-based, movies, short papers, and a presentation! Definitely take his class!!!

Make sure you look at the course other reviewers are reviewing. As a history teacher he is terrible. He grades you based on book and movie reviews and the books he chooses are absolutely terrible. He talks at the class for the full period never using PowerPoint or any other form of teaching aid.

He is such a sweet guy and truly loves the Beatles. This is such an easy class, there are no tests at all and there are a few homework assignments where all you do is listen to music. My only complaint about the class is he gives a lot of reading that can be too much to handle.

I had him for The Beatles First Year Seminar and he was awesome. Very nice, very interested in the subject, and he always had interesting things to talk about in class. There were no tests, only a few papers that he gave a lot of time to complete. Only problem I had is he ran over class time a little, but not too much.

I took him for the Beatles first year seminar. He is a really nice guy and he is a great teacher. He is a little boring though so be prepared to be bored sometimes. He also went over the class time often but at least he's passionate about the material and you'll learn.

This guy is absolutely brilliant! Knows an incredible amount about the Renaissance and certainly bunch of other things! I highly recommend. Very fair grader. Class is kind of long and he stutters a bit, but its easy to get past. Will be taking him again if the need arises. Great professor!

I had Dr. Cambell for this class and it was very difficult and uninteresting. I actually looking forward to studying Renaissance but we never ventured out of Italy. The class was all discussion and I didn't learn very much. If you want to learn about Italy and take an extremely hard final then take this class.

Dr. Campbell is a delight to listen to. His lectures are always clear, concise and helpful. He has incredible knowledge and you almost feel like he is taking you back in history with a time machine. He is a fair grader but demands a lot of writing and it has to accurate and footnoted.
