Talks the entire class and has good stories but only graded 3 things throughout the entire class. Also got graded on how much we spoke in class but he didn't know are names. Honestly did not learn anything and I went to every class.

Your textbook is his own book which is a bit odd but WOW this professor has an insane amount of knowledge and experience behind him. I love the guy, he is very funny. This class has taught me a whole lot about how the different types of people there are in this world and really opened my eyes. I learned a lot and would recommend everyone to take it

Comment:
Our grade was participation-based, and while our class itself (the students) was able to have good discussions, Kenneth would sit in the corner on his phone. He also never took attendance, so the people who participated got the same treatment as the people who came just to turn in assignments and left. Assignments were graded arbitrarily.

He sits in the corner on his phone the entire class texting with one pointer finger, every once in a while chiming in to make an irrelevant point. While I was presenting, he laughed at me TWICE. It's an advertising class but he DOESN'T BELIEVE ADVERTISING IS EFFECTIVE. The students literally teach each other and he does nothing himself. DO NOT TAKE

His grading is all relative, so even if you have amazing material, he grades it based upon what everyone else did. The grades are extremely unclear and it is difficult to maintain an A. However, as a person he is truly fascinating and full of great experiences.

I took this class (Art of Persuasion) because I thought it would be interesting. I learned nothing from this class. Every discussion we had always was about politics, and was only about the politics he wanted to discuss. The grading is incredibly unclear and he never answers his emails. His instructions are incredibly vague. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

A kind-hearted man, but not an enjoyable professor. He was often disoriented and unprepared for class. He was very vague about his actual assignment content and graded on a very broad or estimated scale. You don't have a textbook but a few smaller books, instead.

This freshman seminar was interesting material wise, Doyle really makes you think. But I can honestly say I didn't know what was going on in the class most of the time. The syllabus was only followed like half the time, grading expectations were very unclear, and he gave no feedback on the final papers which accounted for 50% of our grades.

Doyle is hilarious. The class isn't super specific but therefore not super hard. The grades are based off the rest of the class, so hope that other kids are more confused than you are. Doyle is very well traveled and loves to tell stories, but he makes the class interesting. I actually enjoyed the class.

Doyle is a really cool guy. He has had a lot of experiences that make him a great story teller, but as a professor, I would never take him again. His grading is super hard to understand, he doesn't provide feedback, assignments are unclear, and since he's tenured, he does whatever he wants. He didn't seem too invested in my class or our success.

He went on tangents every week. He tried to connect it to the course by assessing how current events are portrayed by the media, but it ended up with him professing his love for conservative values. He gave a 'general feedback' sheet for papers, and you could literally not say one word the entire time and it'd be fine. It was such a joke.

WORST PROFESSOR EVER. I got an 89% and received a C. JOKE. Doyle is tenured and isn't going anywhere. they stuck him in the J school because they didn't know what to do with him.

This man does not know what he is talking about most of the time. And neither does his class. He will never tell you exactly what he's looking for. Somehow you need to figure it out by chance. He doesn't make very great use of class time - most times he just plain leaves with 30 min left. Should be tossed out of the Jschool, but he's tenured.

Very hard to listen to. Annoying personality and to put it lightly, looks like he just rolled out of bed every day and wore the clothes he wore the day before. Class is extremely hard to sit through and i would NEVER recommend him to anyone.

Tenure. Doyle is not a journalism prof. He was a monk and a psych prof. Because of his tenure, the U can't fire him... so they threw him to the J School where he's been making students miserable ever since.

doyle is a very sweet man and tries his best to relate to college students. his instructions are very vague, rarely used the full class period, only had one test and one paper due. His grading system is a bit confusing but if you arent SUPEr interested in market research the class wasnt tough at all!

TAs teach the class. It's an easy A, but he's so unhelpful in office hours if you can get ahold of him. Guest lecturers teach the class.

Most pointless class. I spent the entire time doing crosswords. Yet...it was the easiest A ever. If you can read the textbook, the class will be a breeze. Be prepared to come to class for no reason at all, except attendance purposes.

I graduated nine years ago and received my master's last year. All in all, out of seven years of college and post-gra work this guy was the worst professor of my college career. He didn't know his material, would contradict himself daily, and when I had questions about grades/assignments, etc. he wouldn't respond to e-mails or voicemails. He was
