Comment:

Professor Howell is a great guy, but in his class, there are only 3 tests, a paper, and a final. The first test is SUPER hard and all three test questions come straight from the textbook. If you do not take notes over the textbook, you will not do well. The final was take home, which in the end, saved my grade.

Mr. Howell was a great teacher! He lectures a lot but he follows what the book says so it is easy to determine what will be on his test due to having the textbook. just READ THE TEXTBOOK and you will be great:)

The class has three tests, a paper and a final. The test were very hard as I never got an A on one and currently have a 4.0. The paper was not graded extremely hard but is 30% of your grade. We got the final as a take home but it wasn't worth the stress that went into the class. I would not recommend unless you are a history genius.

Im not exaggerating, I used to have a life, now all I do is study for this class. I have always been a great student and this class has been one of the moest frustraiting and hardest classes I have ever taken. Everyone fails all the test, literally. He is a nice guy and in the end your grade gets better with the paper and attendance grade.

I took Dr. Howell's online Texas history class. The class was very self explanatory and had regular due dates for assignments. Do the work, and you'll get an A.

Texas History with Howell is an easy A or B. As long as you do the assignments there should be no reason not to make a high grade. He's an easy grader, but he wrote his own textbook so it is NOT optional. 1 major essay, 2 discussions per unit, and 1 thesis assignment per unit. Most all quiz/test answers are on quizlet!

He's a great teacher, he passes around a sign in sheet, but at the end of the year kind of stops. You'll have so many extra credit opportunities for tests, it's great. One hard paper at the end of the semester, but he grades easy so it's not too bad. As long as you read the textbook you'll ace the tests, every question is pulled from the readings.

In the beginning I thought I was for sure going to fail this class because there were only 3 tests and 3 writing assignments. It's ALOT of reading and a big chunk of the grade is discussion. The third test was take home and most of the final also was take home! He's a nice guy and he's great if you have questions!

Dr. Howell is an AWESOME prof. His tests are tough & the course requires you to read, but he grades essays easily. Take home exams & discussion grade will help boost your grade. He truly cares about his students and told us repeatedly that he wanted us to actually learn from his class & not to stress over our grade. He gives extra credit and curve.

Professor Howell is an absolute gem. I always got 100s on the essays and two of our tests were take home. The exams we took in class were pretty difficult, but the essays, discussion grade, and take home tests will save your grade. I recommend talking to him before or after class at least once because he will realize that you care about your grade

Good teacher, loved his class. You only have 7 grades 3 are written assignments and 4 are tests. His test are blue book test consisting of 6 terms of which you ahve to define 4, 3 or 4 fill in the blank, 4 multiple choice and a long and short essay. Never really opened the book until we had to read in class. Would recommend him highly

Easy class. Only makes you do the mandatory 3 papers, and grades easy. A couple take home test. You must read chapters before class. Easy A if you show up.
