This was an amazing course. I would highly recommend it to everyone. I took this course online and never felt like he abandoned the class. His organization is excellent and well thought out. Just do the work and you will get a good grade. NOT a walk through the park class or an easy A. This is a great course and you will learn. It is college.

One of my favorite teachers at SMC. He really wants all of his students to do well and will take time out of his schedule to help anyone. To do well in his class, pay attention in lectures (which are really interesting) and read the articles. He gives 3 essay exams and 3 short quizzes. He tells you ahead of time exactly what to study. I LOVED HIM!

I really enjoyed Prof. Mason and I learned a lot. The quizzes were a bit hard but the exams were straightfoward and he went over exactly what was going to be on them before hand. Go to class and do the readings and you'll do good.

Professor Mason is an amazing professor. He is brilliant, teaches the information with such clarity, and I learned so much more than I ever thought I would. There are quite a few (difficult) tests, but his class is so worth it. I recommend this class to any and everyone.

Mr. Mason was an excellent teacher. If you do your work and pay attention in class you should do fine. He was a wonderful teacher and will clarify anything for you if you ask. He really keep my attention and made the class fun. He has a wonderful personality.

He's a great professor! Loved his class! Obviously, you have to be a good note taker though, since there is a lot to write. (I have 96 pgs dunno how it compares to others tho) Prof. Mason is very friendly and will answer any question. Definitely knows his stuff! Great class, I got an A.

one of the worst ever. he knows a lot. talks talks talks, but super disorganized in writing. u have to pay attention to every single word he says(not loud/clear enough), and take notes. and the hardest test! u have to be able to explain everything in ur own words, coz his test is essay!!!

To the post "DONT take this class if youre not black!" All seemed to be welcomed in this class. Facts about white oppression poses uncomfortable subject matter for everyone. Dr. Mason is a tough professor, but fair. Every history is worth exploring.

Awesome Professor! Extremely knowledgeable about subject. My only regret is that he doesn't teach every History class, and there wasn't more time in this one. MUST be an excellent note taker.I got an A, but it wasn't easy. Cares about students. Very likeable guy. Very helpful. Cute and adorable! Take class if serious about subject. All are welcome

A lot of my classmates made the class much harder on themselves than was necessary. All you have to do is take good notes because a majority of the quizzes and exams come with it. He's a great teacher who looks out for his students and wants his students to leave his class having learned something.
