If you have the chance, take Chem 162 from Dr. Raymond. He is a clear and engaging lecturer. You can tell he wants his students to succeed by his answers to questions and awareness of student retention. He always reviews material and I felt his lecture pace was ideal.

Professor Raymond is amazing! He is very good at dumbing things down so that everyone can understand. His tests are not too difficult, especially if you continuously practice the practice exams his provides. He is not a boring professor and truly wants his students to do well. He only teaches what you need to know and is very clear on his criteria.

Dr. Raymond is absolutely wonderful. I would take every class offered by him. He lectures on what you need to know only. He lets you know what he finds important so there are no surprises on test. He is a super smart guy and incredibly down to earth and understanding. The best professor I have ever had in any subject. He is amazing!

Really good lecturer. Used the book to clear up confusion. Gives old exams and homework for plenty of practice problems, along with study guides that are extremely helpful. Though, his tests aren't hard if you understand the material, mistakes add up quick, and you can go from 100 to 70 real quick. Practice really does make perfect with this class

He's quiet so sit towards the front. Exams are super hard. There is one homework assignment between exams. There are a total of 3 exams and one final; whichever exam has the lowest score gets dropped. Very good at teaching materials and answering questions when students are confused. Easy to get ahold of him if needed. HE DOESN'T USE CANVAS!

Dr. Raymond was one of my favorite professors I've ever had, he was kind and funny and very much wanted to help you succeed. His lectures are very detailed and interesting to sit through, I was never dreading this class. He gives you his past exams for the class and homework assignments to study from which helped with test taking a LOT.

Often had material on the test that he hadn't gone over yet, homework was very unclear. He kind of used the online homework but didn't really know much about the online hw program. I would avoid taking him again

This professor is by far one of the most fair and brilliant professor I took at E.W.U. I was truly able to get some knowledge out of his class. Although I did OK in most of his classes the reason I did not excel was totally my fault not the professor. I am proud to have been a student of such a distinguished professor.

Dr. Raymond is a very kind, honest and will work with you. He really cares about his students doing well in his class. He will answer questions outside of class and he even did a weekly study session for my ochem class because we asked for extra practice. Put in the work and come to class, you will do great. Hands down best option of the chem profs

Rarely do you find a science professor who is humble, respectful, patient, and willing to meet you at your level. Dr. Raymond is all of these things. He gives access to old homework and tests from the previous quarter. He gave four homework assignments for the quarter which allowed time to study and learn the concepts.

He is not a bad person, but he DOESNT help students. Ive been in his office numerous of times for help and left feeling discouraged. He told me he couldn't tell me if i was right or wrong on my homework. He is the toughest grader so beware some questions on his tests are worth 6+ points and doesn't giver partial points.

Dr. Raymond is an excellent professor. O-chem is hard but his lectures are usually pretty clear. He is a very nice man and cares about his students. I would defiantly recommend him over any of the other chemistry professors.

Comment:
O-Chem is hard no matter who you take it from, and he is by far the best choice at EWU. He obviously won't put the same structure from lecture onto exam, but know the concepts and you should be able to apply it to a SIMILAR structure. Attendance and book is mandatory. He's left handed so sit where you can see what he's doing/drawing in real-time.

After this being the last chemistry in my series and not loving the professors in the pass I was super excited to take this class with him because Ive heard such good things. It was horrible. His tests are impossible he asks the most confusing questions. It is so hard to follow his lectures because he is everywhere. He does not prepare you.

Raymond is the best Chem teacher in the 160 series at EWU. He doesn't introduce information that is not necessary for what he is teaching and is super clear. Tests are manageable, but you must put in the study time. Only one homework assignment per test Chem is NOT an easy subject but Raymond is your best option!

Dr. Raymond is by far the best chem teacher here at Eastern. He is clear cut about what will be on his exams and really breaks it down well so that the material is understandable. As long as you are willing to put in the effort (I mean it is Chemistry) you should receive a good grade!

Dr. Raymond is easily the nicest and most straightforward guy you'll meet in the science building. Exams are tough but he's a generous grader. Reasonable and understanding, if you have to miss an exam for a legit reason, he'll let you make it up. love this guy. If we could get him to teach Chem480 life would be GREAT.

Dr. Raymond is not only the best Chem teacher I have had, he is easily the best instructor I have had for any class. He is extremely knowledgeable but breaks every single concept down into being very understandable. He will give you last years tests as well as optional practice problems plus 1-2 easy assignments in between tests. Also very funny!
