Comment:

Very intelligent man, underwhelming lecturer. You won't learn much from lectures unless you (or a classmate) engages him with questions. He is very kind and extremely knowledgeable. Lots of writing (writing intensive course) but he grades fairly easily. Only exam was the final-essay questions which were given ahead of time. Very manageable.

This professor was a snoozefest. He bleed the bible dry of interest and made me reconsider my major as biblical studies. Don't take this prof if you can help it. In fact, don't even think about taking this professor unless it is the last class available, and even then... think about changing your 4 year plan.

Waters is a funny prof. I love his humor lol. It may be hard to pay attention, but he is an intelligent guy and he makes me laugh haha. I dont think he reads our essays and stuff (one 3 pg. one, a 7 pg that we then extend to 12). Hes easy and he does care for his students. :)

Comment:

Although this class could be boring and hard to understand, Dr. Waters is a great professor. He is incredibly smart, cares about what he is teaching and has a good sense of humor. It is an easy class if you show up, follow instructions, and do the work. The books are in the Theology library so don't buy them.

You really have to work hard to learn in this class, because the way he teaches is very dull. However, he is a very intelligent man and loves helping students. Basically, if you follow his directions on assignments and look at the study guide for the final, you'll have an A. Dissapointingly easy class.

Dr. Waters is the most brilliant man ever! He knows SO MUCH. It takes a little while to get used to him, but appreciate him because he's great! This class was really easy - completion grades on the small assignments, and he is a really easy grader (like, doesn't read your paper?) on the big ones. The final is an easy A so don't bomb it.

Professor Waters is sooo smart. He can argue any point to its origins, but this has nothing to do with how he grades. It is really easy if you are good at writing papers because there are NO TESTS (besides the final..and dont blow that off, because it is a lot of your grade...and it is the strangest final i have ever taken, btw). pretty easy A.

Nice man but not the best teacher. Knowledgable and gives students extra information. I was disappointed with his grading system. Most of us got A's on every assignment, did well on papers, and yet didn't get an A in the class. A bummer after getting perfect scores the whole semester. Watch out for the Final and the Term Paper, doesn't seem to give A's.

If you pay attention, you will learn a lot. He knows so much information, it is mind-boggling. Still, it is hard to stay awake in the class. We wrote one 8 page paper, then added another 4 on it later. We each led a group on a discussion of articles. Had to write a paragraph every week on some reading. This is a good, easy class.

Only prof I've ever had that allowed sleeping in class. It's even written in his syllabus. You're allowed to sleep a total of 30 min in class within the whole semester. You can either spread it out or do it all at once. Great guy, much knowledge, but up to the student to really learn anything. "We erase you from the board but not from our hearts."
