Prof. Rissmiller was definitely one of the worst professors I've had. He had the worst monotone, and even though it was a level 1000 class, he had really high expectations for us. I found it very difficult to stay awake during his lectures. Unless if you are really interested in government, don't take this class.

Lectures aren't very varied. Quiet. Didn't seem to like me too much. Seemed to expect a lot of prior knowledge, especially for a 1000 level class. Lots of reading and writing. Boring lectures.

this class by FAR the most boring class I've ever taken. super easy if you can manage to stay awake in class. teacher seems lost, he just wings it every day and does not make this class interesting at all. half the class is on their laptops not paying attention. I wish I had dropped this class

Had him for Intro to IR. Very biased in his views, a monotone Ben Stein style voice, and generally condescending to the students. Going to his class was a natural sedative, if you have insomnia, you should make a point to go. Other than that, listen to him rant, write his papers, you get an A.

You DO NOT have to have his same opinion to do well. A very busy man, but if you make a point to see him, he'll help you out with whatever you need. To get an A you need to go to class. He doesn't post his notes online. Also, lots of reading, but he makes sure it's not boring stuff.

Good teacher. He made people read current events, hence why the last reviews were negative. As far as wanting people to write papers a certain way, they have to be good papers. Anyone who didn't pass was just too lazy. I would gladly have another class with this teacher.
