Professor Skora teaches because he cares immensely about the intellectual and emotional growth of his students. Incredible professor. One of the best at Hiram. He's really funny and uplifting. Not to mention the books he chooses are very deep. Don't be a lazy student and do your work, and you'll be fine. Highly recommended.

Sad to see all of the low ratings here. Professor Skora will truly care about you as a student if you put the effort into his class. I never once experienced him grading unfairly and he was always willing to talk to students after class about anything.

This class changed my life. Letting go and letting be is something that we all must face at one point in our lives... Skora's class not only changed my life but it led me down a path of life I never thought was possible. I met my love in his class... But now she is gone... something that Skora taught us all about..to let go and let be. Thanks Skora

Kerry Skora challenges students in a way that most professors do not. If you're not into it, don't take the class. Skora is a totally amazing human being and is very knowledgeable about his subjects.

I found professor skora difficult to understand at times. He often got off topic and was very confusing in his teachings. The tests were super difficult and when confronted about over half the class failing, his reply was to study more. He is extremely unaccomodating. Some books were rarely used and not worth the $200 spent. Hinduism was a struggle

Although I had a B in his class, he mysteriously failed me! When I went to talk to him about it, he said that I "just didn't get it" and didn't deserve to pass the class.

This was a horrible class. He told us about how important it was to be open-minded, but on the first day when I mentioned I liked shopping, he called me selfish. We had to buy LOTS of books for the class, some we never even discussed. We talked about BS like meditating and he tried to push his religion on us, not being open-minded about ours.

There are good points and bad. On the one hand, class discussions and the readings are potentially life-changing. On the other, exams were impossibly difficult and the amount of work was incongruous to the class level. Also, constant "updates" to the syllabus were confusing and unnecessary. Overall, I would not recommend.

i'm surprised to see all the low ratings for him... i was his teaching assistant for a freshman seminar, and we had a fantastic time... excellent reading material, a good broad variety of perspectives, lively discussions, assignments related to the reading and none of it was very difficult. he's one of the few who actually cares about the students. you have a problem in his class? go talk to him!! he WILL listen to you and help you. and if its a complaint, he will take it seriously.
