BEST PROFESSOR IVE HAD SO FAR!!! He always put the students before himself and made the class as understandable/enjoyable as he could! He made class worth attending and it definitely boosted my grade to the level I wanted it at and the information I attained I will keep for a while.

The material is hard, but he is always available to ask questions. As long as you put in the work he will help you. The lab with what brought most of us down, but he curves all the tests! One of the best teachers to take chem from. I was scared about it and now I love it!

Dr. Alliston is a great professor for Chem 1. The exams weren't too terribly difficult and had quizzes usually every Monday. In addition, try going to SI which helps a lot for Chem 1. He uses Aleks for homework which can be a pain, but overall recommend taking him for Chem 1.

He is a nice professor, but the exams were hard an too little time to complete them, There was a total of 4 exams. The Aleks homework was not bad, it's doable. The labs were okay. Just make sure to study hard in advance and do practice problems.

Dr. Alliston is one of the best in the chemistry department at Wichita State. He helps you when you need help and if you go in to talk to him during office hours he's very understanding. The only bad thing I would say about him is that he can make you feel dumb sometimes by the way he answers your questions. But overall he's a good teacher.

ALEKS is the online homework platform used in CHEM 211. It will not be enough to prepare you for the exams. You will have to also do practice problems from the textbook.

The class wasn't too bad at all. I would just say do ALEKS ahead of time so you don't have to worry about it. The enthalpy test is the hardest. The final isn't too hard study study study and you will do fine b/c he curves it. Do good in the lab and on the quizzes in order to get an A. Go to class it helps and there is no point in skipping anyways.

Pretty good prof, gave solid lectures. Grading was spread out between homework, quizzes, etc so no one single area could kill you. Tests were very hard, but he graded them one a curve which made it ok. I know a lot of people don't like it, but I actually thought the online ALEKS homework was a pretty good program.

The class is hard but if you put in the work you can easily pass. I recommend reading the book but its not required. Go to class otherwise you will fail! He is very smart and will help students if you ask for it. Beware of the last test before the final, it was the most difficult by far! Also keep old test it helps you study for the final.

Dr. Alliston was a great professor. HIs lectures were amazing and very relevant to the material tested over. The book isn't necessary. Difficult class to get an A in, but he makes it very easy to pass. He drops quizzes and curves every test. Would definitely recommend for any student.

Dr. Alliston is a fair professor. Uses the online homework program ALEKS, which is a big chunk of your grade at the end. Textbook was not NEEDED, because he provides dense lectures and powerpoint notes. He answers all questions well and is always willing to do any examples. Attend lecture, work through ALEKS, and you should do well on the tests.

Well knowledge, fair and respectful, I have gained a lot of knowledge. It is a good class to take if you are going to take chem 2 or higher. Homework is Aleks which everyone hates, and it makes you cussing when you doing your homework. Other than that Dr. Alliston is a very smart professor.

Attendance isnt required, but his lectures are useful. He helps people understand the material. Gives quizzes every monday and drops one or two quizzes. Tests are curved slightly, the final has a big curve. Didnt use the book, but used ALEKS for hw, which is very useful.

Alliston was not too bad. His teaching methods were easy to follow, and he's there for you when you need him. Also, he provides homework assignments from the book which are not graded--so I highly recommend doing them. Plus, make cheat sheets before every exam. It'll help you pass the class.
