Prof. Cassidy is best prof at Fairfield. Such a sweet guy reminds me of my grandpa. Such a simple class. Just lots of reading but you don't even really have to do it. Don't really need to show up to class, just participate when you can and be respectful. Honestly the most genuine guy ever and such a saint. Have taken him all 4 years @ Fairfield.

Really cool and interesting guy. The lecture itself can become boring, but hearing about his personal experience and life is really interesting. He is very passionate about political theory and he gives breaks during class. There is a lot of reading, but its not hard to get through and you have to do it (at least spark notes) for quizzes.

so. much. reading. and quizzes almost every class. heavy work load, boring - but hes a nice guy! if you do the work and speak up youll be fine, but not a class you should be bending over backwards to take.

Dr Cassidy is a hilarious elderly gentleman who has a dry sense of humor that true humor aficionados will enjoy. Don't have to be a major to do well in the class. Very left leaning, so leftists might enjoy his perspective and righties could enjoy debating him. Would recommend taken him 3 times now 10/10 would take a fourth.

Professor Cassidy is one of my favorite professors thus far. He knows his stuff and is super helpful and friendly. He's a funny guy and very easy to talk to. I would recommend his classes to anyone, regardless of major. If you put the work into it, you will do well and you'll certainly learn a lot.

Dr. Cassidy is a nice, easy-going guy. He knows what hes talking about too in terms of his subject matter. But he isn't the easiest grader. He is fair though. There is a heavy amount of reading from primary sources too. Very discussion heavy class.

Take his Northern Ireland class - one of 2 best classes i took at fairfield (the other being katz's vietnam class). The politics professors really care about their students- they are available for help and very approachable and down to earth.

By far my favorite prof. at the school. He has a unique way of expressing unbiased facts, allowing open debate and discussion, and then inserting his views...which are always backed by ample reading and experience. I recommend him for anyone who actually enjoys trying to learn something.

Comment:

One of my favorite teachers at the University. Dr. Cassidy presents solid lectures. You leaving having learned quite a bit. The workload is decent, nevertheless can be managed. Papers require good writing skills. If you are not a major, take Northern Ireland for diversity credits. Great class! Wonderful person with quirky sense of humor.
