If you have to take/have the chance to take any course by Chambers DO IT. His lectures are amazing and he's one of the best professors at GU. He teaches you the material as well as teaching you to apply skills outside of the class and he genuinely cares about his students' success. Chambers, if you read these WE APPRECIATE YOU.

For core: lots of work. Worth it though. Walk away with way more than just a history class. Cuz of this: would take again. Very funny. Engaging. Weird. Super cool. If you slac off and suck at writing dont take. Three essays, Three tests and some rando quizzes. You'll do fine.

Dr. Chambers is a very engaging professor and truly wants his students to learn. He is not a tough grader at all because he genuinely just wants his students to understand the material he is teaching in class. There are a lot of long lectures and quizzes, but the assignments help boost your grade! Not a tough class and very nice guy.

Dr. Chambers is one of the best professors I've had so far at GU. He truly cares for his students, both on a personal level and academic (lots of extra credit opportunities). His lectures and powerpoint slides are easy to follow. Definitely would recommend for your history core requirement. Go to his office hours and you will improve on essays!

While history has and never will be one of my favorite classes, Dr. Chambers does a good job of keeping it interesting and accessible. I also appreciated that his lectures often times prompted us to question the common historical narrative and come up with our own understanding. Would recommend his class.

Prof. Chambers is pretty much the best history professor that you can ask for. He is an interesting lecturer, reasonable grader, and inspirational. His teaching philosophy is to get the student to be an analytical and independent thinker by getting you to see multiple historical perspectives. Surprisingly, history101 was one of my favorite classes.

One of my favorite professors I've had so far. Chambers makes the class somewhat exciting especially since everyone is half asleep at 8 am. He is funny but goes off on tangents about his personal life during lectures which can be distracting and confusing. However, his clear format with lectures makes up for this. I would recommend Chambers! ;)

I wasn't interested in history before, but Dr. Chambers made it so much more fun and worthwhile for me. He's very passionate about history, and his enthusiasm shows. I've had him for Western Civ I and US History I. I don't like mornings, but Dr. Chambers made morning class more fun for me

Dr. Chambers is overall a great teacher. I was never a good history student, so I was really scared going into it, but he was very helpful. He works with you for tests -- they are multiple choice, matching, and essay format. He tells you exactly what to study for them. I ended up doing really well because of him. Take him if you can!

I love this guy! He makes us laugh and engages the class. History isn't my favorite subject but he makes it fun and relatable. Tests are straight forward, kind of a lot of quizzes but very clear. Not based on discussion, but if you read and pay attention to lectures you'll get an easy A. An fun and easy going class atmosphere. Take him!!!!!

He was my favorite teacher this semester. He gave the whole class 100% on the first three quizzes and is a relatively easy grader. His lectures are entertaining and actually made me like history. I would definitely take his class again!

History is not a favorite of mine but he made the class relevant and really enjoyable. His lectures can get unorganized but he always makes them engaging and makes sure to challenge students to think critically for themselves. There's several tests and assignmentspapers but the tests are fine if you read the textbook and look at his power points.

Awful professor. Entertaining in lecture, but doesn't follow through and seems to apply himself to the coursework half as much as the students. If I learned anything at all from this course it was not because of him.

Dr. Chambers is the best! I took him for both 101 and 102. History has never been a strong subject of mine, but Chambers makes it interesting and easy to understand. Only two projects (papers) the entire semester, and he's a really fair grader and gives you plenty of time. Lots of reading but it's a history class! Absolutely would take him again.
