Had him for Lawyering Skills. Hopkins really likes himself. He let's you know what an impressive resume he has. I got very little from his class. LS2 was taught by an adjunct professor who was outstanding. Hopkins needs to get back into practice and out of the classroom to improve.

Professor Hopkins is an overall great professor! He has a great way of explaining the content and breaking it down and reviewing it so we learn it. His lectures and powerpoints are very helpful and he is always willing to meet with you in office hours... highly recommend.

He's the best professor I've had at John Marshall. He is extremely helpful and lays things out for you to understand the material well. Very helpful. Class discussions are lively and interesting. Amazing lectures. Very patient with students. Even though I made an appointment with him and missed it, he still reschedule me and took his time to help.

Hopkins was a great teacher and by the book in almost every way. We went though the textbook everyday and talked about the cases that we had assigned for homework. He is a really nice guy and super patient with each student. My only critique is that sometimes the structure of class was a little repetitive.

Awsome! Cares for his students and is open to help you outside of class. Makes torts fun and very interesting. Gives you everything you need to know in his slides and in his lecturers. No surprises. Go to class and study and you should do well. Makes you stand up when he calls on you but isn't intimidating and helps you out when you need it.

He is my favorite professor here at Marshall. Do the readings go to class. I got an A- on the midterm and an A on the final. I did the reading and missed only 2 classes all semester. Also, I used an older students outline to study saved me time and I memorized the rules and used glannon guides and the restatement to study! Loved his teaching style!

KHop was great! Explained elements to the point. Multiple choice final was tricky, but fair. Super formal in class but super helpful in office hours. Very friendly and could be hilarious. Got behind on the syllabus so the last two weeks were wam bam thankyou maam, but final review session was helpful. First day scared me, ended as my favorite.

I had Hopkins at W&L Law while he was visiting there. He was one of the nicest professors I had, but unfortunately, he was also one of the worst. He is remarkably incomprehensible, on one occasion becoming so flustered/tongue-tied that he had to excuse himself from the classroom. His grading also seems subjective, though I faired well.

Had him as a summer Torts professor - strongly recommend you avoid him. As a previous poster mentioned, he frequently repeats material and has a speaking style that can make it very difficult to understand what it is he's trying to say. He also does not always provide accurate answers to questions, and he struggles to keep the class on pace.

Had him as a visiting professor for Summer Torts. I thought he was the most helpful professor I've had so far. He's not into the hide the ball thing and seems to genuinely want people to learn. Some of the people in my class didn't like the repetition but I loved it. I wish all of my 1l professors were like him and that he was not just visiting.

Hopkins loves to hear what you think about the cases. People find his class easy, I believe, because torts is the easiest 1L class conceptually. His test is not simple, you must know the material and the minutiae to get an A. He will go out of his way to help the students. Kindest heart I've found at JMLS. Won an award for being the best teach
