He is awesome! He has a lot of experience in this field and is willing to share. He's very enthusiastic and willing to help students who are struggling. He is an interesting lecturer and will often tell stories about his studies in Africa.

If you want to learn about field research or primates, or any study of animals, I'd suggest taking this course. Professor Hunt is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about chimpanzees and there's a lot to learn here. Readings and attending class is a must if you expect to do well on the two exams.

He is clearly very knowledgeable about chimpanzees and his lectures are fairly interesting. You have to show up to class because he gives out quizzes randomly. The only negative is that there are only 2 tests, so if you do bad on the midterm it can be hard to recover.

His enthusiasm is contagious. He wants you to do well in his class and is willing to make adjustments if you talk to him in advance. His lectures are fascinating. It's not too difficult if you pay attention and go to class. Get ready to know more than you ever thought you would about every aspect of a chimp. This was probably my favorite class.

While his teaching style may not be for everyone, if your willing to put in the effort he is more than willing to work with you to help you succeed no matter your difficulties. Considering how big his class can get it's impressive how much he is willing to pay attention to each student.

Clearly passionate. Well-spoken. Often rambles. Posts lecture slides, but that doesn't mean you should skip - you'll want credit for the weekly quizzes. Focus on his presentation & do the work if you want to do well on the cumulative exams (& enjoy his class better). The lab exercises were fantastic! Toughest class that semester - but I loved it.

Terrible class. He got so behind at the beginning our first test was 2 weeks late, he told us the wrong date and then changed it TWO DAYS before the test (one less week to study), a big project wasn't assigned until a month after it was supposed to be, and the lectures are SO BORING and way too many slides. Class description also VERY misleading.

Professor Hunt is a nice guy but oh my GOSH are his lectures awful. His PowerPoints often run upwards of 99 slides, he speaks very soft and overuses the word "sexy" (someone please tell him to stop referring to chimps and other primates as sexy). Like I said, nice guy, but an awful professor.

Professor Hunt is very interested in the subject he teaches. There are some really cool parts of this class, but the majority of it is boring. I suggest going to class because he has a weekly 2 point quiz, which if you paid attention to the previous lecture you'll do just fine on. Not the best, but he's there to help. It's a gen-ed for science too

This is the best class I have ever taken at IU! You have to be really interested in chimpanzees in order to do well in this course. Prof. Hunt's exams are not easy, but if you take really good notes and study the PowerPoint slides, an A is possible!

Unorganized, uninteresting, bad lecturer, terrible grading system based off of two cumulative tests. This class has made me hate chimpanzees.

He gives the most interesting lectures out of almost any professor I've ever had. He's a good guy who is extremely helpful; he wants to see his students succeed and he'll take the time to help you. However, he's very disorganized and your grade rests on 2 tests (the final is cumulative) and 1 group project given at the end of the semester.

His class is unorganized and it's hard to know what he really wants you to focus on. The tests are cumulative as well. There is a lot of reading but if you find chimps interesting then it's not bad.

I was so excited because I love Kevin as a person, but as a professor he's way too unorganized and it's hard to know what he wants you to focus on. Readings are long and tests are pretty tough. This is my focus area and I'm having a hard time in a 100 level bc of his methods

Kevin Hunt is the bomb-diggity! His lectures are almost always interesting and he's just a friendly, easygoing guy. If you need to fill a Critical Approach requirement, I'd definitely recommend this one. Just make sure you study well for your exams.

I was excited to have Kevin as a professor, but I have been disappointed and lost interest in the subject as a result. His lectures are full of disorganized trivial information that he fails to tie to a larger picture, and he assumes students have some knowledge of anatomy and even primates. Also, the entire grade is base on the midterm and final.

As a professor very helpful and direct with regard to the material. He understands the students position as being one of transition and not directly involved with the academic debates or other concerns that dominate the academics lifestyle. Do well in his class and he will do well by you. Ask questions.

Gives the best lectures I've ever heard, in any subject, any department. Laid back and perceptive, lives for student response. Teaches far beyond the technical aspects of his fields, but includes the social psychology of its scholars, as well -- useful lessons for ANY budding researcher. Beware: wicked amounts of reading.

Sooo hard but I learned more in one of his lectures than in any other class in its entirety. However, his expectations of knowledge both coming into the class and for exams is slightly unrealistic and unreasonable
