Comment:

Dr. Kevin is one of the most caring people I have ever met. I'm proud to call him my adviser. As a teacher, he is fun and honest and I learned a lot from him. He's a tough grader though. He definitely makes you work for your grade. If you're not good at reading or writing papers, he may seem hard.

These classes aren't easy, but I've learned more in them than I have in any other class throughout the entirety of my college career. You can't be a baby, you have to go to class, read a lot and know how to write papers at a college level, not 7th grade. Hint:Write the papers the way they write the chapters you're assigned to read, and you'll pass.

He is not a professor to take if you are not interested in the subject. However, this class was the easiest one I had all semester. Besides that, Dr. Kevin is one of the coolest, most down to earth people I've ever met. He truly, truly cares for his students (I know that sounds like such a line, but it's true) and taking him is not a mistake!

Kevin is one of the worst professors I've ever had. You had to write chapter notes that he graded! He gave out poor grades on our notes based on the information from the chapter. Then more than half way through the semester he claimed the chapter notes were plagiarism... but the notes came from the book. Do not recommend him for anyone.

Absolutely do not take him. Take any other teacher possible. Seriously. We watch silent films at 9:25 am, talk about a nap. He's not very nice, he grades ridiculously hard. Caused 9 of the 17 kids in my class to drop. Don't do it.

intelligent but the work load is a bit unfair. it was mindless note taking for hours without any need of comprehension or any learning from it. just facts. the work load may have been worth it if it had some deeper meaning. i had more work from this class than any of my engineering classes. it was a waste of my time

Professor is extremely intelligent and friendly.He does not appreciate slackers but is understanding and easy to talk to.The workload is heavy but the material is really interesting and useful (gives you a new perspective on the world)! Def recommend this professor!

I almost didn't take this class because of some of the comments on here, but I'm so glad I did. Yeah, you're going to work hard, but you'll walk out with a grade that you can feel proud of. Also, Dr. Kevin had this unique intelligent sense of humor (as opposed to Three Stooges slapstick humor) but I don't think many students understood it, haha.

I used to always tell my friends "This professor is too intelligent for his own good!" I had two classes with him, both were discussion-oriented, and you'd walked out of class thinking, "Whoa. Mind blown." I learned more in his classes than I did in any of my other core classes. If you love to learn and don't mind a little hard work, TAKE HIM!! :]

Loved this class. It really wasn't a lot of work (weekly reaction papers, final project was a content analysis) and the material was eye-opening. Just put effort in and you should be fine. Definitely changed how I look at the media. If you're looking for a professor that will change your mind and opinions, take him.

For a 200 level course there is a lot work, however, if you do the work, show up to class, and participate you will get a good grade. There are a lot of comments stating how badly his teaching is, but he isn't looking for brilliance but he is looking for you to try. You must write a response paper every week, however I really enjoyed his teaching

Oh my gosh, the hardest class ever. The concepts are really unclear and he uses the same examples over and over. Tests or papers every week and doesn't give very good feedback on assignments. Don't take unless you have to!

you work your butt off and end up failing, don't take this professor, he gives you ridiculous study guides which do not relate to exams at all. you will also basically rewrite the entire textbook for the class. not only will you get a bad grade, but it will consume all of your free time. did learn a lot though

His tests are impossible. His study guides are around 160 questions every time, you spend sooo much time working on them and studying them and they do you absolutely no good. I pulled so many allnighters for his huge exams and final and ended up with a D. it was a 100 level course! i took it as a gen.ed. do not take him!

Very hard teacher. Barley passed, I studied for every test and his study guides are a nightmare there are 150 questions and if you dont study all of them you fail the test. He doesnt give extra credit and he grades his test horrible. AVIOD HIS CLASSES!!!

I love this guy. He understands communications to a T. If you take this class for a gen. ed. it might be tough but for your major it helps a ton. He makes everything clear but the tests are hard and there is no curve. Make sure you show up because you take notes everyday.
