He is absolutely clear in everything what he is teaching. He is able to give the perfect imagination of things he wants to hear and is so helpfull in technical questions and in questions of possibilites in interpretation. Just great. For beginners AND also for advanced (what I AM!)!!! Thank you for teaching me!

Terrible teacher for a beginner piano class. Doesn't help those who struggle, and instead focuses his attention on those who aren't having any problems. Mocks his students when they are having trouble, and he also has a habit of making snide comments under his breath during juries. This guy needs to be fired.

You have to practice practice practice before you get to his class because he will call on you and you wouldnt want to embarass yourself! He's a good teacher and will take the time to show you what your doing wrong. He comes across as a mean teacher but just dont be lazy in his class, go and practice thats all it takes!

this guy knows what hes talking about. Yea, hes menopausal often and hes a difficult teacher. Do approach with caution. But know that you will learn a lot. Hes extrememly clear in his explanations.

Richmond is awesome. He has a tendency to spaz occasionally (as some have described on here as being "menopausal"), but he actually cares about the students, and as long as he sees that you're really trying, you'll be fine.
