I like him because I get no BS from him. He is also a nice guy. He knows his sh*t but he won't show it until you approach him with questions. IMO he is a lot better and easier to work with in comparison to Heinmann and Weinberg.

Intro IS class. Material isn't exactly the most difficult stuff to master, classes alternated between code/non-code days. Really basic things, professor seemed on top of everything, and was helpful to students who asked him questions. Exams had a couple trick questions, but for the most part, if you can't ace this class, how'd you get into CMU?

I used to hate stats, but with Prof S, I ended up enjoying the subject a little. No matter how you cut it, he really knows his stuff. The homework takes FOREVER to do, and the final was pretty hard. He can be helpful if you talk to him. In the end, I learned a lot about solving statistics problems, but I don't understand it in an applied sense.

Unfair, close-minded, and largely the worst professor I had at school. His lack of knowledge for his subjects are only surpassed by his lack of caring. The old adage: "Those who can do, those who can't teach" is most applicable to him, thought he can't teach either, so maybe he should "teach gym".
