Comment:
There's many great professors at the university. Unfortunately, Keya is not one of them. But hey, she can continue on her quest to remove the football program. Perhaps they should remove cultural studies and comparative literature instead if she's any indication of the field. Hard pass.

Being bright doesn't always mean you can be a great professor/teacher. Her personality toward students is quite awful it's degrading at the least. Teaching wise she doesn't teach effectively so lectures can be pretty boring. It's very difficult to write a paper that she approves of. I don't recommend her courses to anyone.

Keya is the worst professor I have ever had and I'm a graduate student so I've had many. It's not the workload or the material taught as she is fairly bright, it's the arrogant and condescending attitude that makes her a person you never want to be around let alone pay to take a course with! I've never met a nastier and more miserable humanbeing

Comment:
I agree that she is intelligent but her teaching style is too traditional-just lectures from notes nothing too interesting to show so it gets very boring. She has a bad reputation because of her arrogant attitude toward students. A professor who loathes being in a classroom that much shouldn't be teaching.

I didn't have a problem with the course reading, evaluation, or politics. However, I did have a problem with the lack of respect I received from the professor. She was rude, unavailable, and clearly didn't want to be there. What a disappointment.

She needs to take an intensive course in teaching but more importantly in becoming a human being. She is mediocre, irresponsible, and nasty. Never ever come near her or she'll scare you for life.

She is the worst professor I've ever had: mediocre and arrogant. I'm a grad student so I know what a good professor is like. She read from her incomprehensible notes; she made it impossible for us to figure out what she wanted. On top of all that, her English was terrible. AVOID!

She can't lecture. I agree with the other comments. She is rude rude rude. She insults you right out if you slightly disagree with her. I give her an F for not not preparing any class, rude behavior, and not providing any feedback.

She's a poor teacher with lectures below average. What's terrible about her is that she seems to dislike the students - so why is she at the U? When you ask a question she gets all worked out and thinks you are disagreeing with her and begins to belittle you. Zero respect in the classroom.

This course was an abomination, just a complete waste of time. Ganguly is unhelpful & condescending to students, refusing consultations for petty bureaucratic reasons. She actually refuses to teach at times because the University "doesn't pay her enough." Her classes are programmatic. Hard grader. Avoid at all costs.

I dared ask her questions on two occassions and her response was to laugh and tell me to drop the class, both times. I did well in the class, so telling me to drop seems insane. Is it too much to ask of a professor, who is paid to teach and answer questions, to answer a direct question professionally? I think not.

Not a great professor, can be kind of vague but personally insulting. Rams politics down your throat like you're a pate goose. Her lectures are rambling and I felt I learned nothing. Too much holy scripture. Some like her, some don't, her classes are boring.

Good professor, but has too many personal stories. It gets a little overwhelming to get inundated with too much political talk. Tough grader! It's easy to feel somewhat marginalized in the classroom as well.

Brilliant. She has such a great grounding in this material, presents it well and with a sense of humour. She's tough, but in a good way. If you're offended by her, you're not paying close enough attention. Interested in what students have to say and addresses how well the material is being comprehended and responds to it as needed.

She's the best professor I've had at this largely useless university. Students are lazy, and many faculty are too. She still cares, and she's very engaged, but if you're a moron, don't bother. It's not her fault you can't read.

She was without a doubt one of the smartest people I have ever met. She knows her theory and that can be intimidating but DO NOT let that stop you from asking for help because she WILL give it. Top three best classes I have taken.

Interesting when a teacher "polarizes" so much -- students love or hate her. And that bothered me. Demanding is good, condescending is not. And no regular faculty in this dept wants to work with students one n one.

For students to grade a professor based on the grade they got is just petty and immature. She asks alot of her students and it's impossible to "cram" for this class. Definitely lots of critical thinking and if you have a brain and attend class, you would do well.

The class was definitely more challenging than I thought but Keya is a brilliant professor. She's knowledgeable in her field and she's very good about giving individual help.
