I had Kia for EN 304 and 309. She is not only an amazing professor, but just an amazing human being as well. Kia is always so encouraging of her students. I can go into her office feeling down on myself, but then each time I can leave feeling 100x better about a situation. I would recommend her to anyone. You will NOT regret taking a class with her

Kia is one of the most amazing professors I had while I was at NMU. She is so vibrant and really knows how to get you interested in the class. Her personality is what makes the class fun. Kia is more than amazing. She understands when you can't make it to class and doesn't get upset when you forget an assignment. When I didn't get an assignment done I don't feel like I need to miss class. She will help with ANYTHING no matter what. She is very approachable. Take as many classes as you can with Kia!

Kia is the best professor I've ever had. She is fun to have in class and very helpful. She is also very approachable. She truly cares about her students. If she knows you are having a problem, whether it be school related or personal, she will do her best to help you through it. Everyone should try to take a class with Kia.

She's a sweetheart and is really funny! Truly cares about each student & will go out of her way to help out. Lots of writing but gives more than enough time to finish & has no problem giving more time if you ask. She respects each student's way of writing & doesn't expect everyone to write at the same level. Grades according to ur improvement over the course time. I DON'T recommend her class to shy or easily embarrassed students.

Kia is such a sweetheart. She genuinely cares about each and every one of her students and wants them to succeed. If ever a student comes to her in need of help, academically or other, Kia is right there offering tutoring, a big hug, or a friendly ear or shoulder. It's evident in all her lectures that she loves being a professor, and its for this that she's also an excellent one. I never felt more intellectually challenged and stimulated than when I was in her class.

Kia is my hero! One of the best NMU has to offer. She is 100% there for her students.One of the most caring people I know. Has a unique approach to teaching. She was my univerity supervisor during student teaching and was there for me through some difficult times. Take her if you have the chance.
