Nice lady, little shy. I had her for the genetics lab portion, she kind of explains how to do stuff and kind of doesn't. Don't be afraid to ask for help on anything though! The lab portion was 5 prelabs, 2 lab notebook checks, lab exam, and a project. Kind of easy, but grading is a little wonky

Comment:

Dr. Evenson has a very approachable and humble demeanor, which is good since you'll drown if you can't confront her with questions. Her lectures are very unfocused. The material is relatively easy and she always gives study guides out before quizzes. She'll say you need the book, you don't. Many pointless activities/projects but hey, easy points!

Comment:

Prof. Evenson is one of the most unorganized people I've ever met! Her lectures are nearly impossible to comprehend due to the fact that she just skips around from topic to topic and often uses terminology most Sophomores haven't heard of. I would not recommend taking Genetics with her, she made the class much less interesting and more difficult.

Dr. Evenson is a very nice lady who does care about her students. however, he class has very poor structure, unclear grading, and can be quite confusing. The grading can be difficult but obtaining an A will take effort and time studying for exams, finals, and somehow understanding her lectures.

probably the nicest professor I've EVER had. I took three classes with her, and I've gotten A's in all three. She explains things very very well, is very helpful , and provides just the right amount of challenge for a great learning experience. Her shyness NEVER bothered me at ALL. It is just the way she is, which I admired and respected alot.

Dr. Evenson is a very nice woman but seems a bit uncomfortable speaking to a class. You do a lot of labs with a partner, they usually turn out, but sometimes it can be a bit confusing to figure out procedures. Ask for help and she'll explain the best she can for you, she's easy to talk to and drops your lowest lab. You get out of class early a lot.

Don't really use a textbook. She has you print out a 160 page packet that is used everyday. She intended to get through 15 chapters and we got through 8. Her class is very easy, but she gives around assignments per week. Need to participate. If you're good about handing stuff in, you only need to go to class for 5 Wed.'s and on exam/quiz days

I had Dr. Evenson for microbiology lab and she was great! She is very helpful when you ask her questions and wants her students to do good in what is a hard class because of Dr Weber. She is the main reason I received a good grade in the lab portion. take her if you can for micro lab!

Dr. Evenson is a nice lady but a very disorganized professor. I don't know why people say she is easy. I found her quite difficult. Her lectures are scattered and so are her exams. She gives out a lot of readings and quizzes on them. Only professor on campus for genetics so good luck.

Had for 2 diff classes, will give 2 diff reviews. For Genetics, she is a great teacher. Unlike Cell Bio, Genetics is right up her alley. Understands the content well and teaches it clearly. EASY A if you read/summarize the chapters before a test. Scored over 100% on two tests simply by reading and summarizing chapters. Easy homework as well.

Had for 2 diff classes, will give 2 diff reviews. For Cell Biol, I didn't care for her. She wanders SO much in the material. Every day we were jumping to a new topic. I feel like I've learned nothing despite getting an A in the class. Tests were rather difficult. She is a VERY nice, understanding and approachable woman, however. Willing to help out

SUPER nice lady!! She is shy and it shows... but she really truly cares! Her class is easy... and the lab for genetics is FUN!! (and i hate labs!!) She tests entirely off of her notes... you don't need the book at all.. just be respectful and go to class... I feel bad for her when ppl would laugh at her awkwardness :(

beyond disorganized, apprehensive in front of crowds, she should be in a lab not teaching a class, has a packet for the class but bounces around all over the place lectures are dry and unclear what she wants you to take from it, draws out diagrams which are hard to follow instead of using clear cut ones from texts-very unclear on what she wants
