At the beginning of the semester was very difficult for me at first. It was my most demanding course and i felt like i had an assignment everyday. But i must say the work gets easier overtime. The more work you do at the beginning of the semester is the less you do towards the end. She is a very nice lady and tries her best to assist.

Prof Wood makes you work for your grade, but she is committed to helping you succeed. She is very clear with her expectations, but she really understood my difficulties with juggling work and school. Also she made early US history come alive: no more memorizing dull names and dates!

Loved this instructor! The class was Dependence of Man on the Environment, and I had little interest in taking it. However, I did learn quite a bit, and I accredit the instructor for appearing approachable, reachable and enthusiastic. She was quite the breathe of fresh air I needed after a poor experience with a different instructor.

Daily reading- not 5-7 pg stuff. No. More like 25 pg excerpts from books and papers written for graduate students or professors. You need to do the reading in order to get the participation grade. She is very clear in her lectures and may give you stuff to think about but take my advice & don't choose this humanity if you're not a history major.

Probably one of the classes that I've had to work the most for. 3 papers on 3 books, interpreting evidence assignments, quizzes, final exam and iClicker. She is very passionate about the class and a really good professor, but her grading scale is a little hard (her A starts in a 96% and A- in a 91%). Other than that, no complains about her.

The reading is intense. SO many primary document sources, etc. The things I like are called IEPC which are like one paragraph feedback on a selected topic, and also the online quiz's. Those have helped my grade a little. But the paper's are so hard to do, are really lengthy, etc. Oh! & my iClicker has helped. iClicker pt's are fun.

This class is very hard! I'm an honors student and I have a D in her course!! Her lectures are lengthy, you have to write 3 papers which require a lot of critical thinking, quizzes are based on the book but the answers are not in the book, the answers for the quizzes are more like HER personal opinion. You've been warned. 4 books! Non stop reading!

The quizzes she gives you are based off the readings. Each chapter is between 35-60 pages. The answers choices she gives you are unclear and are not clearly found within the book, if they are in the book at all. Often you will find the answer is not in the book and in fact, the answer is based off opinion, if its not the same as hers, its wrong.

I'm taking four classes and my life revolves around this class. My God. She's nice but talks a lot, her lectures run on and on and the subject is not the most interesting. 15min timed chap quiz every week-hard to do them open book. 3 papers, 1 test and crazy amount of readings. She assigns 4 books! Run, especially if you have a job like me.

Course was three times/wk. Mandatory attendance only on session w/ TA. Have to read handouts and book in order to do well. Must view session via webcast. There are four papers you have to do, but you have lots of resources and assistance. I enjoyed the class overall.

This class is a culmination of what we should have learned in the History major. It's not that hard as long as you do all the readings and complete the work on time. She's clear on the instructions and very helpful. 3 tests, a 20 page ORIGINAL research paper with a revision option, an oral presentation, and a few miscellaneous assignments. 3 books.

If you stay on the ball it shouldnt be too hard but if you fall behind, it will be hard too catch up. Overall if you are on the ball you should do fine. Dont procrastinat

5 books to read and 3 papers = most of your grade. Lectures were boring but were required for her quizzes. She gets too picky with detail but w.e I passed with a B- cause she curves the quizzes.

This class is ridiculous! The lectures are boring. They aren't conversational so that makes it extremely difficult to follow through. There are five books in total to be read in the semester. There are 3 essays to be written based on these books which must support HER point of view. other than that, the quizzes were fair and they were curved.

First of all she knows her stuff! But she makes the class be your number one stressful class! You do not have to attend lecture because they're online. Its a super hard class. I'm passing by thin air. Everyone has dropped this class because of all the work and getting a B is almost impossible. 3 papers and online quizzes. RUN and don't look back!

I have always hated history because of the level of difficulty but I'm actually passing this class with a B. You don't have to attend lectures, just watch them online and read the book along with the documents. Don't wait till the last minute to start reading and watching the lectures.

She knows what she is talking about. Personally if you are looking for a easy class, this is NOT it. She has lectures Mondays and Wednesdays, she posts them on moodle so you don't have to attend class. Aside from that you have a T.A teach you and give you assignments aside from the actual class. RIDICULOUS amounts of work.

This professor knows her stuff and she helps in any way she can. That being said, her grading scale is confusing. It goes from a 1-4. She only lectures two to three times a month and discussions are important. If you are going to take her, you have to read, read , read! Her exams are based on the readings 99% of the time. I wouldn't recommend at al
