Dr T is truly one of the best professors at St Johns. He is so encouraging and is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure his students' success in all aspects of their lives. This summer Dr T took students beyond the classroom to explore Africa via a trip to Cameroon. It was amazing to see Dr T in his element and experience the culture firsth

Dr. T as he often likes as shorten nickname is by far the most intelligent and interesting leading scholars in the field of African history. He is not afraid to be honest but will do what he can to help. By far the best professor I had in my time at SJU. Utterly life changing. Though you best read and come ready to learn and speak!

Dr. T is one of the best professors SJU has to offer. If you don't take one of his classes you are seriously missing out. He is so brilliant and well versed in African History, but so curious in his students' perspectives as well, always genuinely interested in us as people. I'm not even a History person but I LOVED this class, I learned so much.

Comment:

Professor T truly cares about his students and their futures. His topics are different from most history courses, so you'll definitely learn something new and interesting. He's reasonable and easy to reach if you need help for anything. Put in the effort and he can work with you to see that you do your very best, even after you finish his course.

One of my favorite professors while at St. Johns. Very passionate about his area of study which made me passionate about the subject as well. Genuinely cares about his students. He gives you all the information you need to pass his test in an easy digestible form, if you dont pass its honestly your fault. Def would take again!

Dr. T is the best prof I've had at SJU. Granted he is white and teaching African history, but he really cares about the subject and the African continent and is respectful about it. UTILIZE HIS OFFICE HOURS! He is the most helpful and caring professor and he will go out of his way just to see you succeed.

Professor Tuchscherer is the BEST professor I've ever had at St. John's University. His method of teaching makes his lessons easy to retain and he is SO wise and intelligent! Though I graduated a few years ago, I am still grateful I took this class. Besides teaching an interesting class with a passion for the subject, Dr. T is a great resource for St. John's students. Dr. T is one of the best on campus because: 1) He knows his stuff inside out, 2)He is passionate about his work, 3)He keeps the class interesting by switching up the types of assignments and 4) He helps you help yourself get a good grade in his class. One research paper, midterm, final, a few critiques, map quiz, and group discussions is what he requires. If you do the readings before you come to class and have something to contribute to the discussions you will be fine. If you are interested in Africa, that's even better, you will enjoy this professor, as I did. Very clear and approachable.
