The material is not so difficult but the lectures are not helpful, even kind of confusing. The practice problems are useful for the exams. Homework is long and not related to the exams. There is a project but it's not that hard to do. I wouldn't take the class again if I wasn't required to.

His class wasn't too difficult. We had four quizzes and the lowest was dropped which was nice. His major drawback was his lack of clarity. He often turned easy concepts into confusing ones with complicated diagrams and poor/non-specific wording; it was easy to lose lots of points with few mistakes. His and the TA's office hours were very helpful.

Billiar is nice, very knowledgeable, and helpful at office hours. However, lectures can be long and confusing and he makes some mistakes when doing problems. Randomly calls on students so be prepared. Weekly HW is a little difficult, but not impossible. There is a group project. There are four quizzes (60%), lowest dropped, can be hard and unclear.

Professor Billiar is a good guy. I took BME 2511 with him and it was alright. Kind of boring lectures and exams are way harder than the practice problems. I did learn a reasonable amount though. Also, he is pretty helpful in office hours.

Very nice and helpful prof. His material in this class is pretty tough, and he is a stickler for detail. But if you pay attention and make sure you hit every specific thing he is looking for in the assignments then you should be fine.

Class was good if your interested in biomechanics. Used a lot of statics/stress problems. Term long project was good and graded very fairly. TA sessions for quizzes are extremely helpful. You have to work hard for the A.

This was a great course and Billiar made it that much more interesting. Homeworks were a lot of work and required many hours, but were very useful in preparation for the exams. Awesome lectures, although a bit stressful when he decided to pick on you to answer questions pertaining to the lecture.

Good professor overall, needs more examples before assigning problems...go to lectures and TA help sessions and you will be fine. Great grading policy, quizzes straight from class material, no tricks. Definitely take this class.
