His voice is not the most exciting to listen to for 75 minutes, but he's a nice guy. There is quite a bit of reading, but its not difficult if you keep up with it. He posts notes online, but takes attendance every class. You only get to watch a few clips of Vikings so don't sign up if you just want to watch it, its free on Amazon Prime.

Unrealistic expectations to pass. This is an outdated and rather pointless requirement for our degree that has no bearing whatsoever on our future career as musical performers and educators. Not needed and should not be required for Music Majors. This is just another additional hoop for us to jump through in order to graduate.

This guy is HARD. For a humanities class, he treats it like its a life or death situation. Extremely hard quizzes and tests. Be ready to ready 100+ pages per week. Honestly, I would not take it again. The professor is actually a great guy and the material is interesting, but it is incredibly hard for people with other hard classes.

Toughest Class EVER! Took his Advanced Grammar class. Don't recommend if you have little knowledge of EnglishGerman grammar terms. Unreasonable expectations for grading & a terrible textbook (references archaic written German grammar). Have to form illogical German sentences on tests. Sure he's nice & he'll help you out but you'll probably do bad.

Professor Goblirsch means well when he teachers but his tone of voice and very strict attitude don't allow his great wealth of German knowledge to truly shine through. Sitting through class waiting for him to call on random students gets old after a while. I will say that the books we had to buy for this class were all relatively cheap.

Way too hard for a 310 class. The workload was too intense. I stopped doing all the hw and I made a B+. He is "gut" if you want to really learn German, but the class itself was way too difficult.

Great professor. The material of the class - History of English - was new to me (and most of the other students in class) but he presented it so that it was really clear and understandable. Always available, even outside office hours, very encourageing and helpful. Superfair and friendly. Will definitely take class with him again!
