He is my first Professor so I don't have a reference to how his teaching is compare to other professors. I would like my professor to be like this, no attendance required, occasion extra credit (once or twice?), does not check homework, quizzes every two weeks, ask students if have questions before move onto the next topic.

He is definitely the worst professor I've ever experienced. He talks to the wall, so the only people who can hear him sit in the front, and teaches strictly from notes he has written down and references every other word. His accent is too thick to understand properly (on account of his quiet mumbling way of talking). Tests are hard. Don't take him.

Rodman is by far the worst educator I have ever experienced. Not only does he never use anything but jargon, but he actually makes the text more confusing. I have had to teach myself virtually all the material in the class, which is hard to do in math. Never ever take his class.

Through his low-talking accent and poor handwriting, this guy makes the material harder to understand. I took as much as I could get from the lectures, and actually figured the stuff out from the book and Khan Academy online. The material is confusing, but not too difficult once you get it.

Rodman is far from helpful. He gives zero partial credit on quizzes and test. He whispers his lectures (if he shows up). If you dont have to take ODE, then DONT!

Unless you are naturally good at Linear Algebra it will be an uphill battle. The material is easy, but he is the hardest professor to understand. Take only if you have to and find a good group of people to study with. Do all outside work including Homework.

Once had a quiz right before spring break, followed immediately by midterm, with homework due on the same day (that wasn't on the exam). The actual math is quite easy, but it's like Rodman designed the course to make you fail.

Rodman clearly knows his stuff, but teaching is not his forte. If someone in the class asks a question about something he just said, he often just repeats what he said word for word. I got a (somewhat) bad grade because I couldn't make it through his lectures, and attendance wasn't mandatory.

Honestly the class is not that bad. Prof Rodman is a very fair grader who is always open and willing to help. Home quizzes and quizzes every week that really help boost your grade. Many times, he is pretty unclear about things, but a study group and office hours can always fix the problem. Will require a fair amount of studying outside of class.

Rodman is the worst teacher I have had at W&M. I have a high interest in Linear Algebra and he almost killed that interest. He embraces the theoretical side of math and his tests show it, having you do proofs and true or false with explanations. Partial credit is rarely given, so get everything perfect. Teachers like this give math a bad name.

Rodman is an unenthusiastic lecturer whose explanations are poorly worded and easy to sleep through. Luckily the material is not that challenging. If you keep up with the homework you can stay long enough to pick up or turn in the weekly take home quiz and take the occasional in class quiz without actually ever sitting through a lecture.

Horribly boring and unhelpful lectures. Don't go to them, he essentially just reads from the book. Do the home quizzes and teach yourself how to do them from the book. If that's not enough, do the hw problems. Take the class with him anyway, because linear algebra is easy and you don't need a good teacher.

I'd have to say the absolute WORST professor at WM and just a horrible, horrible human being in general. Class was extremely boring/painful, and he was not helpful out of class either, especially with regard to women (many others have had similar experiences too). AVOID RODMAN LIKE THE PLAGUE!

Horrible professor. Doesn't know how to teach. Just teaches straight from the book, but doesn't explain it completely. Not helpful at all and is rather unapproachable. Basically have to try and learn the material on your own. I quickly came to hate the class and the subject. Worst professor I've had at W&M by far.

not an interesting class. i did okay in it, though in retrospect i don't remember anything. i've heard the other 211 teachers aren't much better, though we had one as a sub once and he was extreamly helpufl. don't remember his name, sorry.

Alright teacher, but does not do enough examples. Frequently quotes the book. I found myself having to reteach myself the material in order to complete the homequizes.

This guy has to be the absolute worst professor here, avoid him like the plague. He can't speak English, he just reads from the book, he's not helpful, and he's mean when you ask questions. Don't waste your time with this loser!

His examples are good, but he doesn't explain them well, or at least, I don't think he does.
