Laird Hayes is an amazing man who cares deeply for his students and the Earth. He teaches us not only about surfing, but teaches values and lasting life lessons. Throughout the semester, he brings in experts on the ocean and environment, fitness, emergency response, etc. The atmosphere is positive and so fun. He will cheer you on from shore!

Laird is an great guy and a great friend. Show up to class on time and fill out your wave log and you will do well. I learned a lot of life lessons from Laird and his friends. Great class for beginners and advanced. I have been surfing for nine years and it was a great experience. It's a really fun group of people that take this class.

You don't run 2 miles, only 2 to 3 life guard towers. This class is my favorite class ever! I took it two semesters and am looking forward to the next. It is a guarantee of surfing. Of course, he is strict on being on time but that shouldn't be a problem. Just get then on time. Easy as that. GREAT CLASS, 100/10!!! :)

Ahhh Laird..You will grow to love him. He is like your stingy grandpa that has the craziest ideas, who you absolutely adore. Just DO NOT show up late..The most important thing you will learn in this class is how to leave 2 hours early, just to be safe.
