ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. You cannot understand him because of the thick thick accent, his writing is even more horrid than the accent, and he will call on you to answer a question and even if you are right he cant understand you so he says no rudely or nothing at all. This professor is the biggest joke ever. I have 4 papers all due tomorrow from him...

This guy is absolutely Ruthless. His online class is almost impossible. I would recommend to anyone not to take this class online. From the looks of it i would go with an entirely different professor. If he is the last professor available there is a reason why. Wait till next semester.

I took his econ class on campus and if it wasn't for how much he uses the book I wouldn't have gotten a B I would have gotten an F. Half the time none of us in class could understand him and the same could be said for his handwriting. I practically taught myself that semester. Not only was he not instrumental in learning but he wasnt even a factor

Took his Macro online. He has the worst rules ever which have nothing to do with class points, plus he only follows them selectively and his assignments don't make sense. On top of that he does not know how to use BlackBoard and when you write to him to ask questions his answers don't help. Do not take!!!!!!

Professor is not accountable, Course is extremely hard on line due to he is extremely picky on the assignments. He gives silly 10 minute quizzes with calculations. Exams are incredibly hard and you wont finish in time. PICK ANOTHER COURSE

You cant understand the guy!!! he told us he has been teaching at VU for 18 years and still speaks terrible engilish. doesnt answer questions very well and expects you to learn from the book. the class is not that hard but your basically on your own to teach yourself. his test questions are very wordy and hard to follow. just a bad poor professor

I consider myself a very good student and this class was AWFUL. The prof wasn't very helpful. I took it online and when I would ask a question he would point me to the book...obviously I wouldnt have asked the question if I could have figured it out myself. Mini-tests and exams are HARD! Wouldn't suggest this professor at VU.

I just took Professor M.'s Macroecon course, I thought it was somewaht easy until I encountered the midterm and final. Other than those two, all the assignment was pretty easy. He's very flexible with grades. I thought he was quite a good teacher.

Mahapatra is a very poor teacher. He ignores females, refuses to answer anyone's questions about the text, and often gets confused with his own scheduling. Watch out - he'll give same lectures twice, then punish students with loads of work. Not to mention, Mahapatra is worthless in terms of lecture material. Also office hours are very misleading.

This professor really tries but you can't understand very much of what he says. His handwriting a little hard to read. He will have us working on the next two chapters when we have a test over the last two chpters next class. It kinda confuses you. Still somehow passing the class thought.

This guy is one of the worst teachers i have ever had, i couldnt understand him, so i had to drop the class for the reason i couldnt understand him. I also cant believe the school lets him teach here when students complian every year about the guy. Get rid of the man, or tell him to take a speaking class and slow down.
