Ill just save you the trouble. do not attempt to take this class if you are going to have to miss school for any period of time. He isnt screwing around about missing class. I had to withdraw when I had a family emergency. I would have failed the class. In his 15+ page syllabus, it might as well say yea, good luck with that. No excuses

One of the worst professors in the department. Dismisses some questions by students in a condescending manner. Most of the people fall asleep in his class yet he thinks everyone is doing super great with the material. Also, talks way too fast without filtering.

Lane cares for his students (e.g. numerous email reminders) to the extent he babysits us. He even remembers most of the students' name, which is no ordinary feat considering there are at least 70 of us. However, he talks too fast with hardly and breaks. Going for workshops & watching YT videos is a must. You will notice how clear YT videos are.

VERY hard driving! Some weeks we had 3 6+hour homework sets. Still, he's very approachable and I've never had a problem trying to access him. His explanations do go quickly, so ask him to slow down (he says that on the first day). He also expects you to have a good grasp of the language of math, as well as of discrete math. Brush up beforehand!

FAST Talker. Unclear half the time, also cause the material is fast, but he expects us to understand it as easily as he does. Fair grader though, grades people individually rather than a class. If he sees you doing work and at least tryin, you won't fail.

Wonderful teacher, however completely nuts. Moves very quickly through material with numerous tangents. However, extremely knowledgable and if you are able to keep up with him, one of the best in the department. Also, always willing to help and explain
