Larry is wise, objective, and easily the best professor in the production concentration. I learned so much from him and he made me a better filmmaker. Take the class seriously and he will take you seriously. You really gotta put in the work though, this class consumed a LOT of my time -- way more than I anticipated.

He was absolutely awesome. He was very open to crazy ideas, but he believed they should be well developed. He was the best class I had from all the production classes and critical studies. Very awesome guy, very nice and intelligent.

Turned me off of production completely. He wants everything to be depressing and dramatic. He doesn't *actually* teach very much technique, although the little he does teach is explained fairly well. Easy grader, terrible experience.

Great guy with a great class...unfortunatley he doesn't seem to have any tolerance for comedy and he hasn't seen too many contemporary films. However, his knowledge of the technical aspects of editing and production set-up are incredible!

With prof Andrews, it's all about how much work you put into the class- people who did little work felt unsupported. If you worked hard enough, Larry would be happy to supply you with supplemental materials, assistance, etc.

His class completely turned me off from the production concentration. Very disorganized, and I didn't feel that I learned a whole lot. He actually taught us things for only about 20% of the time.

This is the worst film class I have ever taken and it is my major. Larry Andrews was not helpful and did not seem to have a sense of how to structure the course. I've heard he's an excellent teacher but it's hard for me to believe that.
